Fit yes, but the spring rate on the front will be heavier than what your car would spec. For example, the KW v3 kit uses 830 lbs for s4, and 580 lbs for the a4. Not sure how H&R handles it. Some MFGs also change the valving to handle the difference in spring rate.

Re: s4(b7) coilovers on an a4(b7)??

but would that create a problem with the spring rate or truly just affect the ride comfort?

The front may likely sit higher, as the S4 has a heavier V8 than the A4's motors. Similar to the 2.0L and VR6 MK3 Jettas..

but the front from the original stance will dramatically decrease because of the coilovers correct?

yes it will fit, no problems just lower the front more and stiff it up.

i am running s4 coils with no problem, many people have.

buy them, drop it and enjoy it.

Re: s4(b7) coilovers on an a4(b7)??

Ride comfort is mostly from shock valving. Spring rate determines sag on the shock(where it sits in its travel, at rest). Compression tune determines comfort. Most MFGs raise the rebound to deal with the higher spring rate, and in turn, purposefully or automatically, because of the design, raise the compression as well.
A stiffer front will make it more likely for your car to understeer.

If you're one to always want things perfect, I wouldn't do it. If you really just want your car lower, and can deal with a wide range of 'comfort', then go for it. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. Worse, just buy a slightly lower spring rate for the front down the road. Helps if you can do the work yourself, and don't mind doing the install a couple times.

If they are cheap enough, you should definitely get them. If they don't feel right, you can always sell them later to someone with a B7 S4.
