Are your fenders rolled? If not, you may have some problems there...

he'll need spacers too, I have just about 1-2mm clearance from the knuckle with my 235/40's on 8" wide rims

I'm going to figure out spacers once I've done a test fit... just trying to figure out what tires I should order for now...

it's really going to depend on the offset of your wheels.

i'm running 235/35 19 in the front on my 19x8.5 and 245/35 19 on the rear on the 19x9.5. I needed the stretch in the rear to make it fit, and actually had to put 10mm spacers on the rear because the tires would rub on the suspension upright without them.

Re: Ideal tire size for running 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear

+43 is the stock avus offset, a 245/45/17 will need a 10mm spacer to clear on an 8" rim

keep in mind every inch wider a rim is will add 25.4mm or 12.7mm each direction of less clearance

I am looking at doing VMR 710 with a +33 rear offset (on 19x9.5) and 245/35/19 (all the way around with front 19x8.5 with a +45 offset)

I have a 6mm spacer on the back now with 18x8.5 +35 fliks with 225/40/18 and have 20mm clearance (diagonally- closest point of contact from tire to upright)

So switching to a 245/35/19 will add .7in (18mm) to the overall diameter of the tire so that should effectively bring me 9mm closer plus an additional 2mm due to offset and its possible that the inch wider rim could eat another 12.7mm of space

Shit, now that I'm doing the math I'm thinking I might need an 8 or 10 in the back......

Does anyone have a staggered setup on a B5 that could shed some light?

post pictures of the wheels on your car as well as how they line up with the fender and how close they are to the inner knuckle. Tire choice is affected by ride height as well as the fenders. If we see how you line up withthe fenders we can give you an idea on what kind of stretch you will need (if any) in the rear.

How did this end up going? I'm trying to figure out if I'll be able to fit 19x9.5's with 235/35/19's all around with some rolling, I'd love to know how this went...

You wanna run 235/35r19 front & 265/30r19 rear if you are going to do it.

These sizes have almost exact rolling diameter. This also won't mess w your quattro.

Ideally you would just run the same size
w/t all around as the car was setup for this and the quattro system prefers it...

theres going to be so much friction on your poor car. first its got to divide like 300hp to 4 heavy ass 19x9 rims plus the rubber you put on there will further slow it down. I mean sure itll look cool but good lord the gas mileage is going to suck.

also since the quattro is primarily biased to the front you may encounter some understeer issues because the rear wheels are going to be firmly planted in the ground, going straight, and the fronts may have trouble convincing them otherwise.

    I'll have the 4:1 diff, making it 80/20 r/f

But yeah, I might just go with 19x8.5's and 235 tires. It's easier get going, I know it will work. If I take the car to the track I'll be getting 17's with some r compound, the 19's are street wheels.

Also, stage 3's On meth are around 425hp, not 300;) the 19s I'm getting will be lighter than the stock rims anyways...
