Good luck with your legal strategy. Must be just bad luck, cause I've had absolutely no issues with my A4 Avant.

Remember every single manufacture have had lemons. Ton's of people on these can vouch for the Audi band. I hope it works out for you. That really sucks! Good luck with it I know these lemon laws are not for the consumer they are very hard to prove. Have you tired contacting Audi corporate go right over the dealers head?

Sorry to hear. Audi should step up and fix there Quality issues for you. Fix it or give you another car. Way to expensive for any bullshit like this. I just bought a 2010 A4 Prestige Nov 27. That one reason why I bought a Audi is because there quality is supposed to be outstanding and above everyone else.

Good luck with the Lemon Law, wish we had something like that in Canada but our dumbass gutless politicians in Canada are too useless to draft such a law.

The problem with the manufacturers is not producing lemons as every manufacuturer has them, the problem is the manufacturers don't deal with them properly. Instead of making customers with valid lemon cars jump through legal hoops etc., they should apologize and provide the appropriate compensation even if it means a new vehicle. Look at how far superior customer service has brought Lexus and Toyota. They are not without lemons but I would have confidence in them fixing the car or providing appropriate compensation. With my Audi I just hope that the legal team have enough evidence and pray for the final outcome.

A friend of mine had his Lemon TT replaced by Audi Canada before. Tho he went through great lengths to get Audi Canada to replace it.

I did call Audi North America and they are going to pay my next months car payment and their is really nothing they can say. All they really say is that the car is under warranty and I can bring it in every time I have a problem. I simply tell them, I have a brand new car with less than 11,000 miles
    1. the car keeps stalling...cannot select gears properly
    2. you had to replace my entire transmission on a brand new car
    3. replacing my transmission filter at only 10,000 miles is something only done when a car has over 30,000+ miles
    4. the car is unsafe to drive and have CHP block to lanes to have a tow trunk tow me out of the FW....after seeing this thats why Audi doesnt say anything..The lawyer said I will get every single penny back minus miles am driving while the lawyer works on the case..

my b6 had issues, but overall i think it was quite reliable.

my b7 has also been very reliable during my first year of ownership.

Re: Its offical, my car is a Lemon!!!

I think the lemon law only applies to three seperate attempts to fix one issue. They may consider these issues to be seperate as they have replaced multiple items. If the dealer pulled different codes on each visit, it would not be considered the same issue.
Just sayin'.....lemon law is difficult to prove. But Audi is usually good about purchasing cars back when clients are unhappy.

That's pretty much what VWOA did for me on my R32. They made a couple of my payments and were very helpful intrying to keep me satisfied but it really sucks owning a car that you can't drive.

Colorado's Lemon law dictates that any new car purchased can be returned for a full refund within the first year of ownership IF an attempt to repair the car has kept it off the road for 30 business days. I impatiently waited for those 30 business days to rack up and when they finally did I got my attorney involved...within a matter of days of VWOA recieving my letter of intention I was offered the refund or a settlement to purchase any other type of automobile under the VW/Audi brand

so instead of trying to work it out with audi of america, i should just go directly to a lawyer that specializes in lemon law? since audi would have to pay my court costs and legal fees, i assumed working with them would get me a better deal quicker than going through a lawyer. any thoughts? i have no experience with this stuff. thanks

I'd go with AofA 1st and say you want to work with them on a replacement asap but that if they are not willing or drag their feet, contact an attorney. I would also get everything in writing, your service records, etc. Mail (certified) letter with all history and details of your lemon law and how it is being violated to AofA headquarters - find out who specifically. Request the formal process to be initiated and a response within a certain time frame (30 days). Also note, lemon laws usually have to be applied within 20K miles or 2 years of it being new for having to repair the same issue 3X w/o success...

thanks for the info. i filed a formal claim about 10 days ago with AoA and then my car broke down again and they said they would call me tomorrow. they said that they cant come to a conclusion until my car get fixed again and it took them almost a month and a half last time it broke to fix it. i was wondering if they were stalling. i guess i'll wait to hear what they say tomorrow before i call a lawyer.

Depends on the state. It could actually be only 1 issue that takes longer than a certain amount of time to fix (if it affects major functionality of your car).

I had the same transmission filter error that took 1.5 months to diagnose, and the dealership almost replaced the entire transmission. Technically, in NYS, i couldve proceeded with attempting to lemon it, but it takes quite a bit of legal hurdles to do so

Had you already been in contact with AoA? If not then it's going to be difficult for you to get some satifaction until you start building a case for your car being a Lemon. You don't need a Lawyer (yet) but call Audi's customer care line, speak to your Service Department's Manager and ask them to get their Area Zone Manager involved. The more people you get involved with what's going on the better your chances that you'll get the needed help.

i did file a formal request with AoA to be reimbursed for my vehicle and i have all of my service records printed incase i do have to see a lawyer. i guess from the previous posts, it seemed as if people were going directly to a lawyer without trying to work things out with AoA first and i was wondering if there was a reason behind it. i dont think i have the patience to wait 30 days for them to come to a conclusion. i'll probably hear what they have to say tomorrow and get the ball rolling with a lawyer by weeks end.

oh, i read your post from last yr and it sounded as if you went directly to a lawyer and within days you were offered a replacement/refund. after reading that post, i was wondering if audi was dragging their feet and i needed to contact a lawyer to light a fire under their ass to get things moving.

Sorry for the confusion...I contacted my Attorney before I was legally able to file suit but I wanted to have a game plan in place so once the 30 business day had passed I could get my problems resolved with minimal time wasted.

a friend of mine drove a certified (certified POS) used benz that had an electrical problem that caused the sub-woofer to spontaneously go off and make HUGE BOOMS. and when your driving in the freeway and out of nowhere it sounds like grenades are going off in your back seat, its no joke.. he took it in for the same problem 4 times. every time they blamed it on another issue and fixed/replaced a new part, therefore disqualifying him from using the lemon law, in nj anyway, not sure if they're different in other states.

sucks but not everyone can be a winner.

sorry for your troubles and best of luck.
