A4 B6 3.0 Gas Mileage??? How much did you get per tank?

Hi!! I'm new to this forum, had read FAQ but I want to know how much gas mileage do you get per tank on your A4 B6...


I have a A4 3.0 B6 2002 and get around 260miles per tank on the indicator but on the real life I got around 210-230 (traffic jams, etc).

A friend of mine has a A4 B5 1.8T and get aprox 310 miles per tank.


my A4 has something wrong? or that's the standard mileage???/

FWD or quattro? Auto or manual? I have an 03 3.0 manual with quattro and will get anywhere from 275-400 per tank, depending on weather, traffic, and a whole bunch of other stuff. What is the actual fuel economy as I was averaging ~25mpg in the summer, now I'm getting about 23mpg since it's gotten colder

According to indicators, i got 13MPG City... Haven't tried on Highway. 275-400miles per tank is AWESOME!!! (or would be for me :( )

It really depends on where your driving and your driving habits(lead foot!) you can get as low 250 miles per tank in traffic/city or if you really feather the throttle you can get 400 miles per tank

what kills my mileage are all the hills around here. Its just physics. I can putt putt around, go easy on the throttle, over inflate the tires, new 02 sensor, etc etc. 3600 pound 4 wheel drive car plus hills all over the place = less than 20MPG city, maybe 25 or more highway. I get an average of 250 to 300 miles per tank where it will take 14 gallons to fill. 1.8 Stage 2 car Tip. Mileage was about the same stock.

I drive 'normal', always on D (not in S), and yes I do come from a lower side of the city with a big hill at the end of my way, like a 1 mile of hill...

The morning trip is 13 miles aprox, but the on-board computer 'spends' 25-40 miles of gas in the morning.

But in the evening the mileage is the same or sometimes 'higher'

Escenario:

- Today the on board computer was on 170 miles.
- When I came to my office the indicator said 135 miles.
- I'm sure that when I get back home it will read 135 miles or 140...

avg about 280ish. Highway i can bump up to about 350-400 pending the driving habits...

lots and lots of highway driving, like 95% highway or more, with little to no uphill driving. and little to no stopping.

About 20mpg city. Unless you're somehow pumping the exact same amount at every fillup, mile per tank is pointless. Some guys will fill it a quarter tank, another guy will fill it when the light comes on, others will push it right to where its about to stall...yet all 3 of these people call it a "tank of gas".

50/50 hwy and around town. 375-400 miles per tank. I have gotten as much as 31mpg on a tank when driving conservatively on long highway trips.

That seems too high even for a CVT.

Mine gives me about 21/24, I never checked exactly how many miles I get but after I filled up on the station the computer said about 45X something...

the furthest I've gone on one tank is from sandy utah to butte montana (465 miles). All highway, no stops, "driving the speed limit"... I think I put in 17.2 gallons on that fillup.

3.0 manual quattro. I've only broken the 400 mile mark a few times.

driving around town, I'm lucky to get 320 miles.

go calculate it. miles/gallon, using a calculator, not the on board computer.

19 if you're driving is a bit aggressive. 24 if you're grannying it.

if you are worse than 19, which is sounds like it, change the oil, plugs, and make sure you have enough air in the tires. then i would start looking at thinks like cleaning the maf, and checking out the O2.

i get minimum 365 miles per tank..when i drove from toronto to PA i was able to get 450 miles( highway ) its weird coz i just purchased an 03 a4 1.8t as my daily driver but and i only get average 315 miles on a 1.8t
