    Question 2010 B8 A4 - Most Agressive Offset?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What is the most aggressive 19" wheel offset I can run on a 2010 B8 A4?

The car will be lowered on H & R Sport Springs non-staggered.
(2" drop in rear and 1 1/2" drop in front)

I want to get it as flush as possible without using spacers and no roll.

    Thanks in advance.

I currently run 19x8.5 et32s on OEM sport suspension. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting on H&R Sports, but I'll probably try the OE Sports. If you check your fenders, you'll notice that the fronts are far more of a concern than the rears when it comes to rubbing.

We've had issues with the BBS wheels rubbing occasionally at stock ride height @ ET35, so we normally use ET45 to be safe. ET32 seems reasonable as mentioned above, but if lowered would be very tight in the front.

19x9 35et, 255x35-19 will be aggressive. if you run a narrower tire, you can do more offset. 235s work with 19x9 30et. there are decent pictures in the s4 b8, and a4 b8 forums.

he has a narrower 245 on, since 255s would rub with 32et.

with 255s et38 works well. et35 works well with 255s at stock height, but if dropping with that kit 245s would be best.

Some tire brands are wider than others. et35 with a wider manufacturer can be a rub, but not with others. 245s clears it all up.

furthest we've gone is 8.5" 33 in front and 28 in the rear on 255s which did rub a bit on a lowered car.

should be no problem, a 255 should also work with that setup.

Do you realize that your speedometer and odometer will be reading higher than actual due to running tire sizes with a smaller rolling diameter than stock?

OP: As you can see from the variety of responses in this thread, wheel offset is only one part of the equation, while wheel width and tire specs also need to be taken into account.

When you guys say rub, do you mean rubbing on the inner side of the tire when it's straight/going over bumps or the outer side when turning?

I mean the outside "shoulder" of the tire will rub the inside of your fenders when the suspension is compressed. Having the front fender lips rolled nice and flat will create additional space in the fender wells to help avoid rubbing.

honestly i bought the tyres already but im starting to have doubts, im thinking should i just sell it and get 245/35 ?

Yes, that's definitely what I'd do. My tires are 245/35/19 and are a much better fit, IMO.

    What's the centre bore size difference between A4 b7 & B8? Is it fine if I fit 245/35/19 with offset ET35 on A4 B8, 2.0T?

B7s use a bore size of ~57mm whereas B8s use a bore size of ~66mm. 245/35/19s on an et35 8.5"-wide wheel will be perfectly fine w/ plenty of room to lower as well.

Can anyone tell me if an 18 x 18-1/2 ET 28 wheel would have any problems on a B8 A4 with sport suspension? Will there be any issues with the wheel sticking out?

Don't go any wider than 245's and you'll be fine.

Thanks Blake, I have found a set of wheels from a MERCEDES BENZ 2006 E CLASS. Seller says they are 18X8 5-112 offset=32 center bore=66.5
It seems they fit my german a4 1.8t 2009 B8; but I am not sure about the small offset of 32 and center bore 66.5 instead audi's 66.6 (maybe i need spacers?)
Also, I found a measure never read: Lip Depth 1.5" (is this important? )
    Appreciate comments

If they fit a Mercedes, the centerbore is the same as our B8's so you're fine there. Offset is not an issue, but make sure to use 245/40/18 tires. My only concern would be if the spokes will clear your front brake calipers because of the 1.5" lip, but it depends how thick the spokes are and how they curve (flat/concave/convex). If the seller won't guarantee fitment, I probably wouldn't do it. Up to you though...

If your car is Quattro you should use the same size tire on all 4 corners. If it's FWD then you could use the 235's and 245's on either axle.

+1. I'd put the 235's on front and 245's on back, but still prefer the same sizes on all 4 corners.

I just put 19x8.5 stasis se-11s on, I wrapped them in 245s. I think 255s would be silly wide on them. I wish I would have gotten 235s so that I don't have to worry about rubbing when I space these wheels out. Right now they are et45 front, et40 rear (5s on the rear) and I feel like they are way too tucked imho. But to each their own.

Yes. Offsets in the +40s are really conservative on our B8s, especially with an 8.5 width. Depending on the drop, you can easily go low ET30s for it to be a little more flush. My ride height was pretty low and 245 tires on my 19x8.5 ET35 wheels rubbed a little when taking turns w/ someone in the back. If you want, you could add bigger spacers on all 4 corners if you feel they as too tucked.

Cool. Did it come with extended lugs to accommodate the extra length of the spacer?

I am running stock 18x8 wheels on 245s 35.5ET front and 27 ET in the rear and lowered on coils and I definitely love my fitment. I rub in the back usually in dips. Especially gotta be more careful with 3 or 4 ppl in the car as I rub much easier that way but when I'm driving alone it's usually no problem. I love my fitment. My rear tires are flush with fender, the rims themselves are more towards the inside. And in the front i definitely have more space to go wider. Here is sum pic whoring for help :)

Anyone care to chime in on this wheel fitment/tire size: 20x9 ET37, 255/30/20 ? Rub issues? Fenders need to be rolled?
