    MD area pothole claim

Has anyone ever won a claim in Maryland for pothole damage. I recently destroyed two rims because of a pothole i did not see Thanksgiving night. This happened in Charles county, waldorf area. I need some input on if maryland will cover said damage or not. If anyone knows where to start i would appreciate any information you have. Thanks in advance.

    Re: MD area pothole claim

I would start w/ the MD DOT, the people who maintain the highways. If it was a county road then start w/ the county. You are probably going to need pictures of the potholes as well. GL w/ your claim. I tried the same thing in SC and came up empty...

I near that area, although I can not tell you about the pot hole stuff, can you tell me where this pot hole may be so I can avoid it?

Call the Md Highway loss division.
    (800) 942-0162 http://www.treasurer.state.md.us/insurance.htm

Take pictures of the area of the pothole and damage to your car and submit any receipts if you have to pay for damage out of pocket. They reimbursed me after that. I know it's worked for others as well.

    Re: MD area pothole claim

Thanks Mholme. Did you fix it first, because i have to replace two of the rims. I am thinking of putting on my winter set and see if they will pay to replace my other two rims. I just don't know if you have to fix it and they reimburse you or what. Thanks again for the help. Monday morning will be calling them.

I paid out of pocket for the repairs, submitted the receipts and was reimbursed in full.

I didnt know this existed... I bent my 18's on my Accord years back and ended up trashing them.
