Help: Don't seem to have an ACC position on the ignition switch

My 2005.5 avant doesn't hold power when I switch off the ignition. This means no radio as soon as I turn off the motor. Something doesn't seem right. My past Audi, 97 a4, would hold power until i removed the key.
I noticed that when I insert the key, without trying to start the motor, the only position I seem to have is ON. This will activate things and turn on the lights/radio.

    Does this seem right?

I have RSN-E, mem seats, xenon.

    TIA

I think you're right. My car keeps the power to the radio etc until I remove the key.

    Do you have Nav?

Just went out there and tested some more.

As soon as I turn the engine off, key in, the radio turns off every time. The windows still work. Since this was at night, all the interior/dash lights remain on.
I can turn on the radio at that moment manually, so it still has power. :(

Re: Help: Don't seem to have an ACC position on the ignition switch

I'm having the same problem with my 04 S4. I've never been in a car where you you have to have the key in the On position to listen to the radio. With this car the ignition switch had 3 settings OFF, ON, START unlike other cars which have OFF, ACC, ON, START.

If I'm parked for long periods of time I don't want to have the key in the ON position for that long.

    Any ideas?

Yep, it is normal, and it sucks.

What you then have to do, is turn the stereo back on. It will turn on and stay on even with the key in the off position. Totally lame of Audi to trigger on the event of key being turned off, rather than key being removed in order to turn off the radio.
