I wonder if it's going to be bolt on or internals need to be modified.

from what i saw at RAI Motorsport they had a nturaly aspirated s4 that they were developing a sc for. as far as i could tell it was a custom intake manifold, oil lines if needed and a belt to drive off the crank

They already have a 3.2 SC??? WTF? If anything I bet the tune sucks ass on it and won't be perfected til a couple more years.

I'm sure it will be a straight bolt-on at a low boost ~7psi

Yeah the 4.2 SC has been out for a couple years now. Production released it last year and VF is the leading manufacturer for them. Downfall is their hefty price, I looked into them when I wanted to buy a B7 S4. But the OP wants a 3.2 S/C option, which is non-existent at this moment. Even the b7 a4's don't have a SC, neither will we. I doubt RAI's R&D on the 3.2 engine is very deep.

    huh?

RAI has nothing for the S4 V8

VF launched theirs 2 weeks ago
PES launched theirs a few months ago
MTM launched theirs before both, but have sold probably 2-3 kits in the US

between the three of them, you could count the number of 4.2 SC kits they've sold here on your fingers and toes.

I know that RAI is currently developing a sc for a v8 b6. i know it because i saw it when i was there for the install of my testpipe. RAI's R&D were developing everything from scratch

I wouldn't hold your breath. The aftermarket community has never embraced the 3.2 (or 3.0) longitudinal V6 engines....and since Audi has just cancelled them there would be no reason to start R&D now.

You can barely get exhaust systems never mind a supercharger or turbo kit.

Another reason why this would never be made available would be the cost of it. just a guess but it would probably be at least $7,000+ and for that price you can most likely just get the S4.

I never said RAI made SC kits for the 4.2, diatomoic did. I just said that the info was irrelevant to a 3.2 being made.

I remember a couple members from the west coast had MTM but the price was outrageous. Then VF put a $10k price on theirs and several were interested as a gerbil car was out there, this must've been almost a year ago, I didn't think it would take 10 months for it to be released to the public. Didn't know PES was going to go through with their kit. Seemed like VF was going to be a big hit, after people took out a second mortgage to pay for it . Like I said, I haven't looked into the S4 section since I bought the B8. I think the price for a PES S/C kit for the 3.2 would be near $4-5k. If it put me anywhere near 350 reliably I would buy one, after software tuning caught up to the harware.

    yeah, VF has been really...patient

They launched the Supercharger hype by posting numbers (496hp) at waterfest 2008...but by the time waterfest 2009 AND H20i had passed, they still hadn't made the kit available to the public...just those few test cars you remembered from last spring.

Hopefully they're making sure it's awesome...PES cars have had suspect numbers at the track despite making '515 hp' etc. There are 2 NA 4.2 cars with JHM mods in the 12s at the 1/4mile so far...and only 2 PES SC cars. They're all within a tenth of each other or so. Seems impossible, but meh...we'll see how it unfolds. 1/4 mile isn't ideal metric for any 3900 lb car. JHM mods seem to have it right...free up more horsepower to the wheels and knock lbs off the rotating mass and unsprung weight.

they haven't cancelled the 3.2 longitudinal v6... its just no longer available in US market in the A4. Still available in the US A5, and Europe/China.

Yeah the last couple days I've been catching up on those threads little by little. With the amount of negligence the companies have shown the more mod-worthy 4.2 with their deep-wallet owners, makes me seriously doubt that they will come out with a kit for the 3.2 platform. The B6/B7 S4 is a little strong piggy, just needs to go on a diet, but the power is present. I'm actually thinking if the 3.2 got a S/C, we'd be well in the 400 range. That's great power to have "on-tap". Their prices are a little over the top though. If they lowered them a little bit, more owners would be willing, and they'd profit by the #, not by single sales.

Oh well fellow 3.2 owners, don't hold your breath

sell the car, buy an S4. I kid you not, the costs and headache involved would make the S4 the winning propisition for costs when resale values were put in the mix.

20 grand could get you a custom kit, but a kit for public sales is very unlikely.

I doubt any 3.2 owner is ambitious enough to sell the car or spend 20k on F/I. History has taught us that . I would for the right price as the "only" mod on my car. It would be a great upgrade to it's daily drivability. If I really wanted to go balls out on HP I wouldn't have gotten an A4 in the first place. lol

BTW you'll see that the S4's have really bad resale value. ALL Audi's as a matter a fact, definatey not our strong point

a hoped up a4 though would have worse resale value than the s4. might as well put the money into something that works, and returns some of the cost difference. a blower kit on the a4 would be 90% gone on a resale.

trading on the S4, you spend on the difference, but get back half of the difference if you sold it after 3 years.
