was feeling a bit bored with the looks and sound of my Fox quad muffler so paid a visit to MAN exhaust to fabricate a new free-flowing exhaust system with bigger tips...

    FOX Quad exhaust

    New customised exhaust...

Well it turns out that the original 2 FOX mufflers weren't doing much of a job to "muffle" the system in the 1st place because with the new NO MUFFLER system, the sound has not increased in volume by very much at all! There is absolutely NO drone, which was what I was initially fearing.

Where it has changed completely is in the looks department. I LOVE the new bigger tips. Fills up the S4 valance so much better I was contemplating going for the titanium blue-flame look but I know my wife would've killed me. Anyway with this system, it's designed to be easily interchangeable with the FOX at anytime.

To be clear, you still have two (OEM center) mufflers under there that obviously do a great job controlling the noise levels. Based on your experience, it's safe to say that properly designed/tuned resonators can have a tremendous effect on keeping drone to a minimum.

yes that is right. those 2 mufflers do the majority of the work in keeping the entire system quiet and drone free.

guess this opens up a lot of options for those who wanna get a quad system on the cheap and definitely freer flowing!

that being said, i'm buying a full milltek quad system as soon as they're released

This is a link its a shitty picture I will get a more detailed one after I had pfaff tunning install it maybe the AWE rep's can take a look at it, it actually a little lower then that part of the pipe is like faded out its terrible phone picture. Anyone tell me if theres looks like anything simliar to that? The suspension stud from the back left wheel is maybe 1.5" lower then that pipes lowest point. The stasis system shore doesnt hang that low. I had 2 have it adjusted and I paid to do it twice!.

Tell me this setup has a meaner exhaust tone, and it sounds like it actually has a tone at high rpms and doesnt "Fart" during shifting gears. I want the car to have a little more umph in the higher rpms kind of like a v6 sound or yea a magnaflow system on almost any car. Nothing ricer and raspy a nice rumble.. Sound clipp!!?

it definitely farts between gear changes, I have an S-tronic so i dont know if your standard tip is gonna fart more or less. i suspect less because the DSG is famous for its farting. and i actually love it. definitely doesnt sound like a V6. i find that sound clips always end up sounding nothing like the actual thing.

What system could you compare it to? Does it have a high rpm rumble or does its sound the same as your fox exhaust ? ^^

i have not had any other system other than the FOX. the FOX was a real low deep bassy subtle tone.

right now its more high pitched. i guess i could best compare it to something slightly less hardcore than the sound of VTEC, although the farting definitely does get addictive....

Does anyone in the Vancouver (Canada) area have the AWE catback exhaust system? I'd like to hear first hand before I decide on installing on my B8 A4 Avant 2.0T Tip

That would be great, I would love the tone to carry out into the higher RPM range if possible. I think I may ditch the Mufflers and just go with tips from the AWE System. I would let them go for about 100-150 bucks each.

i've since replaced my exhaust with the Bastuck quad tip system, with the straight cut tips. sound is much softer but bassier and i think it actually sounds better. less raw.

Can people who have the Stasis exhaust comment on the pricing?

Never been a fan of Hofele kits. I like the oval exhaust tips but the valance is too busy IMHO. Also, its texture looks strangely reflective.

i am using the Batsuck quads on my car and i love the sound. its soft but aggressive. there's no drone whatsoever on my S-tronic transmission and its an understated sound. if anything i wish it were slightly louder. these german guys really put their ehxausts thru rigorous tetsing to ensure they pass TUV certification.

There are 2 styles of t ips for the quads: straight cut and rolled. i got the straight cut but kinda regret it. I love the look of the millteks on the S4 and might swap to that when they release their A4 system.

Have to agree with Blake P on this one- I like the look of the oval outlets (though I'd prefer them in a quad-tip setup). The valence is just "off". Not sure exactly how, but it just seems like something you would see on a newer Ford TBird or something...

Bastuck FTW! I have their valence for my Eisenmann quads. My eisenmann wasn't a complete bolt on and it drones even with the sport system. I like the Bastuck especially becuase it's a complete bolt on and is TUV approved. I would have gone with the rolled tips too.

I'm curious what you mean when you say it wasn't a complete bolt on...

Anyone have the Milltek exhaust for the 2.0 B8 yet? Also, does anyone have opinion on their products

Just got my Stasis exhaust installed and so far I love it. I have not noticed any droning so far. I love the tips and how well they fill in the valence. I was a little worried at first that they would look "ricer", that is definitely not the case.

Thanks to Ian and the crew at EPwerks in Indy for their work and customer service on all the mods they have installed on my car!

Here are a couple of quick pics:

OK - with the help of a couple people at AZ, I know I'd like to switch my exhaust (A4 B8 s-line) to a stock Avant s-line (mainly for aesthetics). Thanks to DAVID88's website (http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Articles_Exhaust.html) I was able to get the following information that I would need (regardless of what muffler set I went with):

    1 - 8K0 804 172 - Passenger Side Heat Shield
    4 x N 907 965 02 - Clips for Heat Shield
    1 - 8K0 253 144 M -Hanger Assembly

I found all of these parts (although the clips N 907 965 02 said they were "O-rings" - but they are .30 each, so I'll risk it) at http://genuineaudiparts.com/partloca...&siteid=214407.

However I am having trouble locating these parts:

    1 - Part #??????? - Avant s-line lower valance
    9 x N 106 021 01 - Valance Fasteners
    1 - 8T0 807 791 - Valance trim strip

I've done a search online as well as on multiple online part sites (including the genuinevwaudiparts.com). Outside of all these parts I think I'll only need a STOCK Avant B8 exhaust. If ANYONE is interested in selling me theirs (if you've upgraded), please let me know!

Thanks for the help on the exhaust, this stuff can get confusing.

The part # for S Line valence you need is 8K0807521D1RR, according to the PDF on AWE's site.
