    Hi Guys,

I am trying to track down issues with a 2002 a4 1.8t quattro 5 spd...

due to a crack int he ecu cover, these 3 relays are all rusted out, and caused the rad fan to blow until the battery died

Does anyone know what the below relays do?

Ran a bunch of searches and i'm getting nowhere...

    TIA!

Is your ECU getting a proper ground? Take the ECU out of the box but leave the harnesses attached and set the metal ECU box on the chasis (do all of this when the radiatior fans are on).

    Re: Relay 373, 219 and 395 function

i did notice that the ecu had no bracket on it... just was floating inside the box....

I'll try grounding the ecu to see if that helps...

but the relays are badly rusted, quite sure the insides are seized...

can anyone tell me what the relays control???

Did you replace all the rusted relays? 219 is like a master relay, which controls the ignition coils I believe or something like that. I tried starting my car a bunch, but ended fouling my plugs. I replaced the 219 and waited a day or so for my cylinders and plugs were dry before trying to start it again.

Ha. since I think I am having issues in the same place but with my SAI Pump. In a different thread EuroxS4 mentioned that it would be under the ECU. I am pretty sure one of them controls the SAI pump.

I too would like to know the answer if anyone actually knows. Edit: Look what I found

anyone have any of these lying around? there are no more "pick & pulls" around me.

I used to have a bunch of 373 and 219 when I had my b5.5 passat, but after that was sold my girlfriend who likes to throw shit out, talked me into chucking them. and honestly I am too poor to just go out and buy them off ebay or amazon right now, especially if my car is toast and I have to figure out a way to get a new one.

I could also use a pig tail that would connect t the SAI pump so I could test that directly and apply power to it.
