I have the same thing in my right front door. In my case, I think the switch is gunked up with grease and thats why in the summer when it heats up it starts working again. I've done all the research on them, and I actually bought some microswitches to replace them myself, but just getting to them is a major chore, much less replacing them. You can't just look up a part number, you have to find ones that look like they'd fit. You could buy the whole mechanism they are connected too but its not cheap just to replace for a faulty switch. I have seen a partial how to out there, but on a 20 year old car its low priority for me, and I've decided to just live with it. More power to you though if you have the motivation.
