You have a clogged drain in your firewall, and water is overflowing/pouring into the cabin as a result. Happened to me twice already, where the carpet on the P/S was completely DRENCHED.

speaking about leaks from rain... we had a lot of rain last night and this morning my girlfriend gets in the driver rear seat and pulls out the seat belt to buckle her plant in ( don't ask...) and the whole seat belt was wet....

any idea where the rain would be coming in from? I looked around the rear seat and inside the trunk and found no signs of water, but if you pull the driver side rear seat belt out, the whole thing is wet....

Re: so my a4 leaks water...

It's not only the drain plug under the battery, but also check your pollen filter housing and cover. There is a foam weather strip under the housing, and the housing is held in by 2 M6 nuts (stud on chassis). The foam weather strip is what separates your chassis and keeps water from spilling in. If you remove the pollen filter housing, you can literally put your hand inside your dash. This foam seems to deteriorate through time, or the nuts loosen. Then check the cover as well which channels the water outwards into the firewall to be drained.

Re: so my a4 leaks water...

+1 for the plug behind the battery. mine was clogged in my old B5 and it took me forever to figure out how that water was getting in there. no joke- sometimes after 1 hard rain there would be huge puddles in the passenger side, front and back, enough watter to fill my little 2.5 gallon shopvac like 5-6 times!!! and all it was was that little drain under the battery.....

There are drain passages underneath your sun roof glass. Open the roof fully, and take a look to make sure they are not clogged.

is under your trunk mat wet too? could be a taillight or trunk seal leak and the water runs to under the seat. did you take the back seat out? pull hard, it just pulls right out....

trunk isn't wet at all, it's just my seat belt...To be specific, it looks like water is getting into where the seat belt rolls up at in the back seat. I'm going to try clean the drains this weekend.

I had the same problem. The drains at the sunroof looked fine, but I went ahead and pulled off my side panels to expose the seatbelt (which was wet). Then I started pouring water down the car to simulate a rain/storm w/ all the windows rolled up. For me, the hose from the drain was loose, and water spilled into the car rather than out and under the car.

Re: so my a4 leaks water...

Hey guys... need some help. Instead of starting a new thread I decided to continue in this tread since it's relevant....

I've been having this water leak for some time and can not figure out to fix it unless removing the C-Pillar. Can someone tell how to remove or get to the rear seat belt assembly? Or removing the C-Pillar? I tried looking for a ETKA and no luck. On one of the images I took is of the "latch bolt", do I remove that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: so my a4 leaks water...

I have the same problem and I redid my battery drains, plenum drains, resealed my cabin filter housing and I still do not understand where it's coming from. It leaks on the passenger floor when it rains and I am really tired of this. Anyone has any ideas? It's not the sunroof drains either.

    Thanks

YOU NEED TO GET THIS CHECKED OUT!!! i had the same thing happen to my 03 but it was on the drivers side....listen to this...it rained really really hard last year in houston during thanksgiving and i was inside all day eating and doing homework. late that night i go out to pick up my girl and my remote doesnt work, not big deal, i open the door and no lights come on, weird, then i sit down and put my foot on the clutch to start it up and my feet are about 8 inches deep in standing water!!! what happened was the ecu's box somehow was not sealed so all the water was draining into that then behind that dash to finally rest in the driver's side floor board. all in all it cost audi 8Gs and myself $1100 which is bullshit bc the car sat at the lot for almost a month before they touched it.

and what really gets to me is they left a tarp covering my car and duct taped it down on the fendors and i can still see the marks.................SO GO GET IT LOOKED AT BEFORE YOUR FUCKED!

If water is accumulating in the rear passenger footwell its def the sunroof drains. If its water on the pass front its the drain in the fire wall or a misconnected a/c drain hose.
seen to many of these symptoms. its usually text book. Also just because you cant see the sunroof drain clogged doesnt mean its not clogged trust me!

First remove the seat bottom section then the screw holding the side bolster will be found at the end of a bent wire bracket attached to the bottom end of the side bolster.
