Can you fit a snowboard in the trunk?

So for a B5 sedan, can you fit a snowboard in the trunk without folding the seats? We're talking just 1 board with bindings mounted. Thanks for your input! If you've done it before, please list the length of the board you fit too.

if your board is short and or skinny yes. I tried buy my board was too long. It was also too wide to try sticking it into the skit bag thing that comes out between the 2 back seats.

Can't fold the seats b/c there will be 5 people in the cabin. Rules out the pass-through too.

What size is your board that didn't fit?

Logically, we'd be stuffing the shortest board of the 5 in the trunk. Luckily that is pretty short, a 154. Still, not sure if that will fit...

    What size is your board?

I did too, but I just heard back from a friend that says they fit a 156 before. Now I'm all confused.

Re: Can you fit a snowboard in the trunk?

The only way I have gotten 5 boards and 5 people is with a rack and then take the bindings off of one of the larger boards and sandwich it between two smaller ones on the rack, then just throw the one pair of binding in the trunk and bring your park tool for reassembly.

And I don't remember if my girlfriends 146 fits in the trunk of my b7 but I know my 150 park board doesn't. Good luck with that if they fit I wouldn't of even bought a rack!

That's a good idea, actually, if the rack will still lock down.

I have another friend that said his 157 wasn't even close to fitting. Dammit I hate conflicting info. lol.

pretty sure it wont fit. take some measurements with a tape measure. only way it would be possible is if it sits diagonally.

    Hey pat,

Just facebooked you back, but I know my b5 can't hold that last board we're talking about. 146 is TOPS that I can put in diagonally.

Re: Can you fit a snowboard in the trunk?

There is no way unless it is a really flexible board, fold drivers rear seat back, put board in to the little cubby on the passenger side, bend the crap out of the board and have someone close the seat. Needless to say there will be a crap load of pressure on the board and the seat so not a great idea. Tried a 153 and unless i bent the crap out it it had no chance a good 4" too long.

I've done this lots of times. It works pretty well. Just take off the bindings...it doesn't take too much time.

nope a 154 won't fit. i know my skis are shorter than 160 and they don't fit.. gotta use the split, then it fits perfectly.

I know this doesn't answer your question but I'd say look for a box man! I found a used setup on Craigslist under $300- an OEM audi rack clips and crossbars with locks and keys and huge Thule box.
I can fit 4 boards and 1 set of skis, everyones boots, extra gear in the box. Keeps all the smelly wet and snowy stuff out of your car, and boards have sharp edges.

Re: Can you fit a snowboard in the trunk?

I can fit my 158 slash, but thats just me. You do have to bend it slightly, and have nothing in the passengerside cargo thing, but you can do it. I just pulled the side of that up and out and then the tip o my board slides into it.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

just lay the small seat down. you can still fit a few boards and or skis and 3 friends (the one riding bitch will, yeah, bitch) but once you smoke a bowl and put on some good tunes everyone will be happy

edit... oh 5 people. may need a rack! the trunk will be full with everyone's gear anyhow

    Short and Sweet...absolutely not.

Just do what I did the first year I got back into boarding, let the tips hang out and bungee your trunk down. I layed them down in a lxl pattern in the trunk when I had myself and 3 other buddies riding with me.

Thats one of the biggest reasons I love my car.. No rack but I can safley roll with 4 adults and 4 boards to the mt.. But when I was younger we had to ghetto rig a lot of trips... Ive fit a board in the cabin on an Escort I used to have... between the front seats and the back passenger moves to the side a bit... Its not comfy but it got us up there... haha
