Hello, looking for info on changing tire size's. Want to put a set of 245/40/18's on my 08' 3.2 s-line, and would like to find out if they fit with no clearance problems. The car has 235/40/18's. (had a look at 1010's tire size calculator, and the height diff. is within 3% and the width is 10mm, (3/8") wider.)

they will fit. One size never rubs from oem fitments using the same aspect ratio, and rim.

They should be fine unless you lower it, and then you may rub

Yep, we've done it before with no issues unless car is slammed

Doc, at what point do you need new rims? I guess what I'm asking is, are we assuming kpeace needs another set of rims in this scenario, or can he use the same rims that he's using with the 235's? I am also trying to answer this question due to my search for winter tires...

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: 235 vs. 245

We list the S Line wheels as 18x8, and the 245/40R18 will fit any wheel between 8 and 9.5" wide. Assuming it would fit without rubbing, anything wider than 245 would most likely require a new set of wheels

Had one tire installed on the stock wheel to try it, had clearance problems at spindle.
