Do i need alignment after front axle replacement?

i bought my FR axle a long time ago but will have time to do it until this coming friday, and just need to know if i need to alighn the car after replacing it. also, i ussually take my car to sears for alignment, but i just got my audi, do you think they do a good job with audis?.

also there is another question, out of all those auto part stores like adavance, autozone, napa, murrays, etc. which one offers the best brake pads. i know a lot of people here go with hawks, from experience i prefer Raybestos, but none of those are sold at these places, murrays used to sell raybestos, but they stopped. thanks in advance for any info.

No, unless you took your suspension apart.

No to the alignment. Pepboys carries EBC rotors and pads. I am running EBC sport rotors and green pads. Great improvment over stock.

I'd go with Hawk, I switched over and have never looked back.

Re: Do i need alignment after front axle replacement?

thanks for the info guys, tomorrow is the grand day, i forgot i also need to measure my rotors, everywhere i ask they show 2 sizes, and both have different part numbers. i'll post after i'm done.

regarding my pads, i bought the car 5k miles ago, and it had brand new brakes, but after they are hot, they get noisy as hell, you could hear me 2 blocks away, that's the reason why i'm looking for new pads.

    again, thanks.

If you loosen or remove anything suspension wise then yes. But most people can change an axle just by having the wheels turned.

My car and I have a lot in common--we're both kind of old and slow, but still manage to look pretty fucking cool.

Re: Do i need alignment after front axle replacement?

thanks for the tips, it saved me the alignment money. it took forever because we did not have those 12 point torx, or whatever they are called. so the most time we spent it looking for those, we finally found them at pep boys. we stripped 2 scres on the axle, but other than that it's really easy if you have everything you need.
