    Audi A4 2006 Stereo Removal

Hello All, I just received my eclipse double din gps. And am wanting to remove the factory radio. I went to walmart and purchased 2 sets of the removal keys, 4 keys in all. And when I inserted them, the top left and bottom right clicked in perfectly, but the other 2 dont click in perfectly, and when I try to pull on the ones that are clicked in the radio doesnt even move a bit, so if anyone knows how to remove the stock radio all help is highly appreciated.

sometimes, you really have to jam them in there and wiggle them around for them to do anything

Do not jam the keys in. Insert them do that the flat part of the key head is facing away from the radio. Look at them and you'll know what I mean. I'm sending this from my iPhone so I will post you a link in a minute with better instructions.

when you remove, try pulling the keys from the top left and bottom right, thats how i did it, its a little easier, try that even if the keys dont clip in

Sounds like the problem I had when I wanted to swap in an RNS-E. I had to take out the glove compartment. Worked like a charm. You put all the keys in nice and tight... and push from the back.its only a few bolts and the compartment falls right out.

Re: Audi A4 2006 Stereo Removal

Just took my stereo out on Saturday. All four should click. I also removed my glove box. The first inch of the stereo fits real snug. I pushed from the back, but if you wiggle it on the opposite corners it should very slowly pull out.

I put in the Denson Gateway 100 ipod connector, works just like the videos on the enfig website. Love it. Took about an hour to drop the glove box and remove the stereo, install, then put everything back. I went slow to make sure i didn't scratch anything. Install was very easy, 9 screws on the glove box and it just drops straight down.

Post some pics of the new stereo once your finshed!

x2 on the tight fit for the first couple of inches!

I also had the problem with 1 corner that did not release. The recommendation to remove glove compartment and push from the back worked for me.

Re: Audi A4 2006 Stereo Removal

Hey , thanks for all the help. I actually put all 4 keys in, and pulled on the top left one and it came out. Will post pics in a bit. And btw , who ever needs a Audi symphony radio with 6 disc changer, pm me it has no scratches at all.

    Thanks.
