we were in the patron highcroft racing pits (25ft away) celebrating when all that went down.

we all really didn't know what was going on. we were out on pit wall when the checkered when went out so we didn't see their last lap. we saw the crash but we were running down to the where they park the cars after the race.

the only thing i heard is when the GT2 podium awards were going on and the corvette teem didn't show up, and the announcer said "and the corvette teem is not present because they are tending to their car."

but we all know that they were probably in the officials room protesting.

then we went straight to the patron hospitality tent to start the flow of the good stuff

Ha what a finish. I don't buy what the corvette driver said about the porsche "parking" and I see the end result as a function of the choice he made in the previous turn. But what do I know.

It looked to me like Magnussen tried to unsettle Bergmeister in the last corner and when it worked Bergmeister was in position to return the favor. It's hard racing, but definitely fair since Jan fired the first shot.

awesome finish.

the outside pass attempt around corner 1 was nuts. the pass in the pit exit was stupid.
but overall that was some good stuff.

They both were placed on a 2 race suspension for next years series. IMO Porsche should've gotten the harsher punishment, that moved could've killed Magnussen. That 90 degree hit is exactly how Earnhardt died.
