B6 vs. B7 OEM brake size for S4

I tried searching first, but couldn't find anything. I was checking the technical specs in the resource section on that other Audi site and noticed that the Audi changed the brake size from the B6 platform to the B7 platform and made them smaller. Is this correct? Any ideas why? I assume that 17" winter wheels won't fit a B6? Thanks guys.

B6S4 and B7S4 have the same 345mm front brake rotor size and most OEM 17" wheels will clear the brakes.

I thought they updated the caliper on the B7 A4 to be the same as the B6 S4.

Okay, it must have been a typo, as the 2007 technical specs state 320mm/288mm, but the 2006 says 345mm. Sorry guys.

that's because you didn't use Audi technical specs...you used a wiki prepared by forum members at Audiworld. Didn't you.

Hey there fellow Canuck! No, I checked the .pdf, not the wiki. No worries though, an obvious typo. Thanks for the clarification. Sorry for wasting anyone's time.

no waste...that document has caused a few big arguments on here. Lots of the A4 guys love to say they have the same brakes as the S4 as a result! There was another big battle in the S4 forum earlier this year that led to someone's termination.

The document was created by Audiworld (members), not Audi. It's presented as if it is a tablet handed down from August Horch himself, but it's really not official at all.
