    GT2871 power?

Some of you may not know I'm doing a 1.8T swap into my 3.0 and I'm currently tearing down a motor and putting in a 2.0 stroker. The original idea was a 2.0 stroker w/gt3071R ...Bu I just came across a good deal on full GT2871 kit for a damn good price.

Can I still reach 360 - 380WHP on this turbo? I got over 400 on my gt3071R on my VW, never had a GT2X series before. Ideas? Tips?

It was a fun run, but the time has gone.

High boost and race gas... yes.

Moderate boost and pump gas... not so much.

i think FP modified HTA 2871R can hit 350awhp, they hit 320-330whp normally and full boost by 4000

I have not bought a turbo setup yet. Anyone have any links to good prices on turbo kits? I've been out of the VAG FI scene for a bit.

    Re: GT2871 power?

    HTA3076.

GT3076 at the least. if you're building a stroker, you might as well put a worthy turbo on it.

if you went 28 series, you'd end up upgrading and loosing money in a year.
    Current:
    '16 Mercedes-Benz C450 "AMG": Stage 2 w/downpipes & 19" BBS CH-R's
    '88 Harley-Davidson Sporty 880: 1200 bottom - Ported & Cam'd top - S&S In - Screamin' Eagle Out

    Previous:
    '02 Audi A4 1.8TQM: Full GT28RS on meth w/everything else.
    '01.5 Audi A4 1.8TQMS: Tune and exhaust.
'99 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon Manual: Bone stock.
I don't even want to remember the others

Agreed. I got tired of my 2871 very quick. My 3076. Not so much. I LOVE it.

I mean in a straight line, more power up top is going to be better, aka at the strip.

Don't you think that for a daily or even for mixed track use, a gt2871 would be a better choice?

I have been in a 2871 car, but not a 3076. I would think the 3076 would almost be too-much power for twistys and come on way to late when coming out of conners/off ramps.

Just some thoughts here, trying to get my plans in order here for my car :-)

I think the 2871 is a great choice. Look at Jordan's car at alt. Living in Utah (at what alt?) i would reconsider what turbo you choose if you are at high elevation.

    Re: GT2871 power?

If you do end up going GT2871r make sure you go with a T31 exhaust housing setup, this way if you decide you need a larger turbo with that 2.0 you can just swap a GT30r in its place without making any other changes other then the inlet since the 30r is a 4" inlet.

Banana is runing a HTA 2868 which flows more air then a GT28rs. IIRC he made something like 335whp on pump gas and water meth.

At this time FP is only offering the 68mm wheel as an upgrade, not offering a HTA2868 as a new turbo.

On C16 or Q16 and 30+psi I bet it would be closer to 400whp.
