Hi all, I have a set of Giovanna ararat w/ black caps 18" that I want to put on my quattro. The bolt pattern on the quattro (according to tirerack) is 5x112.

The car I had them on before is an SUV, with bolt pattern 5x114.3

I'm sure many of you have worked with wheels that conform to many bolt patterns. That being, there are actually something like ten bolt holes in the wheel so you can use what you need, and cover it up with the centre cap.

If i'm not making it clear, please let me know :p otherwise, I just want to make sure that the rims can fit the car.

well they are different bolt patterns so they usually wouldnt work. BUT you can get some wobble bolts i believe to make them work

    Re: Giovanna Rims

    thanks lichman,
i mean obviously if they were two bolt patterns it wouldn't fit -- plain and simple. BUT, typically wheel makers liek giovanna, lexani, etc. make multi-purpose bolt areas...again, mine have 8 (i think) bolt holes so you can mix and match to fit your vehicle.

    also on a purchase page, it mentions "Available in 4 - holes / 5 - holes / 6 - holes / Custom - holes bolt patterns."

i'm just not sure how common audi's bolt pattern is, whether or not it would fall into the umbrella size that giovanna allows for...

    Re: Giovanna Rims

There could be two bolt patterns on your wheels, but in the 5 bolt mounting, there are 110, 112, 114.5 and I think one other standard. It is nearly impossible to eyeball and see what it is. There should be something stamped on the back of the rim, or you could just try to fit them.

The Audi bolt pattern is common, actually same as my 93 Z28 Camaro and most the GM 5 bolt. Generally a manufacturer arbitrary selects one size and uses it everywhere.

    Re: Giovanna Rims

Bolt pattern is one thing, centerbore is another. Make sure the wheels have the correct size centerbore to fit on the hub without any extra room. If the bore is larger, you should use the appropriate hub ring adapter so they sit on the hub and you don't experience any vibration issues. Let's see a picture of the wheels. I typically stay away from any of the overly Italian sounding wheel brands.

    Re: Giovanna Rims

thanks for the input--i would make sure that the ring adapter is installed by shop for me.

the wheels can be seen on a lexus IS here. my audi is black, so the black on black with chrome accents works well for what i like. got a lot of compliments on my last car, namely because they aren't too flashy...but they aren't exactly racer wheels either :p different strokes, of course.

plus giovanna is a pretty decent make rim. when i was asking a shop about bringing them in, they asked if i wanted "real giovanna's?" they aren't as pricey as asanti, but definitely a recognizable brand.

I'd have to agree. Too much ghetto bling for such a classy car like the A4.

Bling, gaudy, busy... pick your poison. Sorry, I'm just giving my opinion. I realize we all have different taste and the main thing is that you like them.

    Re: Giovanna Rims

yeah man, im not here to pick fights -- just asking & learning...and where i can, helping ;)
everyone has their opinions (body kits, rims, tint, colour--hell, i absolutely despise audi's standard red colour) and that's the cool thing about a forum. I actually don't know how these will look on the audi so i'll put them up against it before mounting / buying new tires etc. and make a decision based on then. as you said, they may just be too much for such a car.

    Re: Giovanna Rims

you can get 114.3 bolts redrilled to 112 easily, people do it all the time. but like blake said, you have to check the centerbore/hub

What kind of SUV were they on? Offset, center bore and bolt circle are the three things you'll need to look at...
