herrickd - We have these lights available in our database, but have not dug into the work that would be required for a retrofit of the LED headlamps or tail lamps...

47Ronon - Do you have one of each? You have tried to install them? Can you provide a bit more information besides your absolute statement?

I don't mind retrofitting. I am sure I can take care of fitment issues. Can you please PM or e-mail me with pricing?

    Re: 2010 Q7 LED Headlights

Gents, Ive been looking all over for a solution to this issue. Apparently there are no aftermarket kits yet available (according to the good ppl at OEMPlus, there is not much demand for such a retrofit). The solutions Ive seen involve opening the lamp housings and performing some extensive mods. I dont have the background or time for that...it would be great to find a clean simple solution that doesnt void my Audi warranty.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    Tony

We are working more aggressively on this at the moment. In the last 3 days, we've had 4 different customers call and ask for a full Q7 (heads & tails) retrofit.

The tails are a direct PnP, but the heads are a big ????

    Re: 2010 Q7 LED Headlights

    Herrick,

As per our lengthy conversations via email the 2010 headlights require new bulb and ballast, D3S type. I have yet to see anyone fit the D1S style bulb into a D3S headlamp as Audi is switching to this mercury free D3S setup on most, if not all, models when they do a facelift or model change. The headlights themselves fit physically, but they do require the change over to the newer style D3S equipment.

They can be fit, just requires additional components or modifying the headlight to fit your D1S components, which I have yet to see someone attempt.

    Cheers,

    Re: 2010 Q7 LED Headlights

How about the auto leveling feature that is standard on all factory equipped HID autos? Is that something that is built into the headlights themselves?

    Re: 2010 Q7 LED Headlights

The actual leveling system is part of the headlamp, pre and post facelift xenon headlights all use the same leveling motor even. There is a controller and level sensors on control arms that determine the need for leveling, but the actual motorized system is in the headlight and comes with a headlamp when ordered.

    Re: 2010 Q7 LED Headlights

I am very interested in the same, especially the rear lights. I have been discussing it with the body shop at my dealership and they seem to be convinced that it is not possible (for the rear lights) without changing the whole tailgate!!! Not worth that kind of a mod for just tail lights.

If anyone comes up with a solution or a conversion, please update me.

    Re: 2010 Q7 LED Headlights

Hi, It's Alberto from Italy, new in this interesting forum. My 2008 4L Q7 has got standard lights without Xeno. My delearship tried to install the rear 2010 led lights (Audi genuine) and fron Headlights. The rear aren't so "plug and play". After several trials they work but I can't see the "L" shaped by the leds? Why? the dealership told me that audi sells two Kinds of rear 2010 lights: with and without L shaped leds..it sounds strange to me.
By the way installing the complete tri-xenon headlights is impossibile at the moment because you should buy a new junction box different from the Bi-Xenon one. I'm desperate!!! Can you help me?

On EBay a German guy is still offering a pair of tri-xenon. Why??
