Try 372 times to turn it off, back on, and eject the cd, it should come out by then, if not pull the radio out, take it to a shop or take it apart your self and get the disc out, then put in a new radio.

What ever you do, don't ever put another CD into that one or this will happen more often.

DISCONNECT your radio for awhile and at times it will reset the servos in there... try that..

This happened to me, started working like 2 days later and coughed up a broken cd that was jammed inside. Sounds like your SOL.

not sure what disconnecting the battery is going to do for the radio but I had the same problem when I pulled my radio one time and put it back in.

The easiest way to solve this is to pull the radio, open the top and look into the disc basket, you will more than likely see one that is misaligned, grab a paperclip, undo it so it is one big metal rod and nudge the disc back into place. This worked for me when I had the same problem, I can not for certain say it will solve yours but you can use it for plan B if you like.

Is it really "jammed"? As in you cannot get a CD out or just the message pops up?

I get this when I put in a CD that I have made from the computer and some times the player wont read it all the way through.

no, it has 3 cd's in it... i cant put one in, i cant get any of them out... it makes sounds, when it changes cds inside... and sounds like it tried.. after 4th time - it gives up..

Disconnecting it will make it do a reset, and at times unstick cd's..

there's a way to bypass that... some kinda RCA cables switch... u plug wrong cable in wrong hole, and then plug it back the right way, while radio is on, and it works...... not sure exactly what's what called, i was a little out of it when the guy explained it to me..

i fixed it... we took out the deck, unscrewed 2 screws, raised the lid, and cds were all stacked up there and we couldnt get them out... so i got pissed and bent the top cd to the point where it broke in half and shattered everywhere... took all the little shits out, and pressed eject to eject other 2 cds and IT WORKED!!!! then i loaded one and it played, and loaded 5 more and everything works great now :) yay!!

When you fixed your CD player were the CD's sitting at an angle? (like image below)



I have this damn thing all apart..and still can't seem to figure out what is causing the Error 3 message.

The cds should not be at an angle while in there, so that is part of your problem. The other part is "why did they get at an angle to begin with?"

That's what I thought. They should all lay flat in the changer.
I dunno how it happened...just quit working last Friday. wouldn't eject a CD or load a CD..just said error 3. The back corner of the stack discs doesn't lay flat against the bottom of the case.
So I wonder it a motor or some other part has crapped out, causing the jam.?. I took it apart and poked around, no broken CD's or anything, nothing that looked out of place.

Not yet, no. I will try it today, I think I only had 2 CD's in there anyways.

I hope it's not as big as a bitch as it seems to be for some. Kind of want this stock deck back incase I ever sell.

I removed the face plate and an additional plate behind it, as well as the back plate to the changer...and I couldn't see anyway to get 'em out.

I just fixed my Changer w/ the Error 3 Code.. one of the cd's jumped outta the tray.. while i was working on my sat install.. lil toying w/ it.. voila.. it worked... :)

I was not so lucky, and ended up buying a very nice gently used HU.

Sigh, i think my clips are bent from a previous owner - just tried removing my headunit with no luck - i did it fine on my b6 3.0 before =(. Gonna try a new set of keys, I can tell their just sliding over the clips cause i can see the grooves on my radio keys... I was hoping if the faceplate came off I could put it back together, but it doesn't sound like that works on the syphony II

I have them same problem i have a trunk mounted CD player in my 98 Audi A4 an d i put CDs in to the changer and i get ERR3, The changer isnt jammed and when i push the eject button they come out fine. Any suggestions?

rip the faceplate off, then use a few flathead screw drivers to use on the clips to get it out. thats how i had to get mine out. remember, another symphony II is only 40 dollars from ECS, unless they ran out

I have a 2001 TT that has the error 3 code . I managed to get the cd changer out. There are no cds in the player but the code is still showing on the radio. I hesitate to put the changer back in to try playing without clearing the code off the radio. how would I go about doing this?
