Anyone running the E3 diamond fire plugs?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have been seeing these advertised on TV, as well as Horsepower and a few other auto shows have been using them.

Anyone test them out? Any feedback on them?

Re: Anyone running the E3 diamond fire plugs?

I was going to buy a set, then decided against it because I wanted plugs a step colder than stock and the parts store couldn't tell me what would be colder. So I went with Denso IK22's

I wouldn't run those Denso IK22 or IK21 plugs in a turbo car seems like that very tiny tip on the plug in a turbo/high intake temp car is asking for trouble.

Re: Anyone running the E3 diamond fire plugs?

I used to run them on my other 1.8t and never have had any problems. I've only got good things to say about them. I tried other plugs, and haven't had anything work as good as these.

Re: Anyone running the E3 diamond fire plugs?

They are spark plugs, they spark. The only thing that is going to have any effect is the temp rating of the plug. Other than that a plug is a plug, sure some last longer than other but at the end of the day one spark plug with the same temp rating isnt going to give you ANY noticeable gains or any extra performance. They are a gimmick, stick with NGKs

I disagree with that, there are some cars that run a lot better with them. Most of Honda's higher HP motors are part of that group.

well for high HP turbo applications they are terrible. The electrodes started pitting at 5k miles and constantly missfired. i'll stick withthe bosche f6 dtc plugs.

Re: Anyone running the E3 diamond fire plugs?

We are talking about plugs for your car right??? I've run them years ago on my car (1.8t) and choose to not run them anymore just like others have said. It's your car get them if you want, but 10-12 bucks a plug for these is a waste.

I am not planning on running them, just curious as they seem to be a new craze.

Re: Anyone running the E3 diamond fire plugs?

its just a marketing scheme. they have a diamond shaped cutout to "allow better flame propogation" from the electrode tip. you get the exact same results with a multi-tipped (dual or quad) plug, and you could even use surface plugs like rotary engines which have no electrode tip at all. it serves the same purpose as people who used to index their plugs. it doesnt make enough of a difference for the extra cost/effort to be worthwhile.

Re: Anyone running the E3 diamond fire plugs?

Yup, no matter how large the surface area for the electrode electricity still takes the one and only easiest path.
