I have a strong smell of gas in the cabin of my car, it’s a 2006 a4 2.0 Quattro. I located the source and it is the fuel level level sensor on the driver side. I am going to replace the round orange gasket between the tank and the sensor but I can’t find the gasket for inside the electrical plug. IMG_0213.jpg

use a thick screwdriver and a small hammer to turn the the ring counterclockwise for about 25 degrees to unlock it. Make sure the fuel in the tank in less than 70% or else the fuel will dump out.

The coding info on page one is really helpful info, thanks for posting it. I made a DIY on the driver side fuel level sender on my B7 Quattro, hope it helps someone!

I used the info in this post to perform a cluster output test and also to calibrate the fuel level on my B7 Avant.
