Audi OEM chrome turn signal bulbs

    Hi all,

Thanks to Phil's (fly300kts) great research, I ordered a pair of the Audi OEM chrome turn signal bulbs for this weekend's clear corner project. I got them from Genuine VW Audi Parts for about $10 each as Phil said...

    Phil's original post is here:
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ight=N10256404

I wanted to post up a few more pics so folks could see what they look like. They certainly appear high quality. They aren't as chrome as the Stealth Bulbs brand bulbs look, which might account for why Phil found they are so much brighter than the stealth bulbs. They appear to have more "chrome" at the front of the bulb so from the front they look nearly all chrome, but from the side show a bit more orange. Looking at them at various angles, it appears that when light color objects are in the reflection and behind the bulbs they look very chrome, which should be the case in the headlight housing.

I'll be sure to update with "on the car" pics once I install them this weekend.

As a side note, around they base these have the following markings:
    "PHILIPS 12496/SVPY21W 12V 2F7 FRANCE B807"

So these seem to be 21W/12V Philips bulbs.

The best bang for your buck
Remember to file down one of the 2 pin on the socket (the one who is offset). The bulb holder are different in Europe

PS: If you need help for the CC, call me

Phil - Which pin is that? the one closer to the base of the bulb or the one closer to the bulb itself?

Jens sent me some when I bought my Xenons from him. Of course, I'm probably just going to switch to Euro mode and get rid of the dual filament type altogether.

When you look at the bulb from the socket side, get rid of the pin who is off center

Re: Audi OEM chrome turn signal bulbs

Are the "stealth" turn signals on hoen-usa.com phillips bulbs as well? I'm looking to buy a set but don't want to get cheap ones that burn out in a week. Can anyone please shed some light on this?

    Thank You!

Yeah but don't you have to modify them in order to work?

Actually I didn't modify them. I just pushed them into the socket. There was enough "give" to the plastic socket that the bulb popped right in. The offset pin actually wound up in the slot once the bulb was installed. They work great!

No, that's not what you asked - Not based on your question. Had you taken the time to read the thread you would have known the answer to your question. And for the record, you should probably listen to Phil's advice - he's the expert here.

Edit: Sorry if I come across salty - I'm a bit liquored up. Seriously, listen to Phil - he knows what's up.
