    Turn signal bulbs - 1156 or 7506?

    Hi all,

Going to order some stealth bulbs for an upcoming clear corner job but am confused on bulb size. I see alot of reference on the forum to 1156 size bulbs for the front turn signals, but Sylvania's bulb guide says 7506 is the size I need. Which is correct?

    From Sylvania's site...

Re: Turn signal bulbs - 1156 or 7506?

1156 can be used for 7506. What you should be checking is the proper voltage and wattage bulb because 1156 bulbs can come in both 12v/21w and 12v/28w configurations.

A 21w bulb in a 28w slot is fine, but not the other way around otherwise you'll melt the housing or melt the wiring over time. the greater the difference in wattage from what you should be using, the more likely you are to damage your setup.

Good info, thanks. Is it safe to assume I should get a 21w bulb as opposed to 28w?

    Not necessarily.

I know for a fact the DRL bulbs are 21w bulbs, but I don't know what wattage the turn indicators are.

FYI, you can find 7506LL bulbs at autozone.

hmmmm, interesting people do say 1156.

I believe I am running 1156, haven't had any problems. Buy the 7506 ones and let me know how that turns out, maybe we might have to update the FAQ.

Considering that 7506 IS the oem bulb you should go ahead and put the list that he posted by sylvania as that is the correct bulb. Since 7506 bulbs aren't as easily available as 1156, most install 1156. :2cents:
