Where to Get G12 Coolant Other Than Dealer?

Hey guys,

My tittle is my question.

Also, I know this topic has been covered many times but I never got a clear answer. What are your thoughts on the coolant from Autozone that says "Made for European cars" and apparently have been approved by "Daimler-Chrysler Mercedes Benz" for their cars?

Are they yay or nay?

you can get it from numerous places online but then you have to pay shipping. check out any local automotive stores, i know a couple places carry it in my town.

NAPA has it around me, you might check around, phone book can save you lots of hassle too

Local european import auto parts specialist, its not cheap but you MUST use G12.

IN fact, make sure you get the newest G12++.

Old G12 has been outdated and superceded. It's exclusively what we carry, and available through the dealerships.

Thanks guys for chipping in and thanks Mike@PureMS for letting me know about the G12++.

Somehow I've heard from couple Passat guys that it would be okay to use other stuff as long as other brand coolant had been flushed.

Quick question. What is it that makes it unsafe to use other coolants? Not that I'm interested in other coolants, would just like to know what makes G12 "Special".

You can order though Napa at the store, 1-2 days it will be there.

My car had normal green coolant when i got the car.
Replaced the timing belt, water pump ETC... with the Timing belt "PLUS"
kit from MJM and it came with G12. But I know of a German Performance shop
local to me that sells it so thats where I'm getting it from....
I have to replace some hoses etc... because the green coolant....
I'm guessing thats what made my water pump go bad...

I've only had the car for 3 months so I'm still reviving her. lol
