    Re: best paste wax?

I would consider DG a darker color I suppose. Honestly, try some NXT Tech Wax 2.0 (paste or liquid). It is cheap, can be bought local, and gets rated very very high by a lot of pro detailers.

Looks like you have tried some really good products. Is there something that you are not getting out of those LSP's, that keep you looking? If so what is it?

I have a silver car, so I do not use any of your standard waxes on it as it will mute the metallic flake. I use Chemical Guys EZ-Creme Glaze and top it with Opti-Seal.

If it was me, as you already own some good stuff. Try some EZ-Creme Glaze, and then top it with your "wax".

    Re: best paste wax?

Then get some EZ-Creme Glaze. There is another glaze also that is super popular that is the same thing as EZ (except EZ does have a tiny bit of abrasives). Just the name escapes me. Oh Danase Wet Glaze (DWG for short).

I use nothing but Turtle Wax Ice! Funny thing is, I got comments all day at Waterfest about how clean the car was.

The way Turtle Wax Ice leaves zero white residue is so much better than what I have used in the past. You can put it on anything and it wipes off.

    Re: best paste wax?

All these super carnubas are great, but they don't last long at all. I personally use Zaino. The water will bead off of my car for months. I've used P21S and some other expensive carnubas, and haven't found a single one that shines more noticeably than another, and certainly not one that lasts very long. Certainly not worth the freakin' outrageous price tag attached to them.

Pinnacle Signature Series II or Pinnacle Souveran! Great results.

I've also used the Zaino process and I'm very happy with it. The only thing I don't like is how long it takes to do the whole process.

    Re: best paste wax?

Poorboy makes good products. Nothing "amazing" for on par with more expensive waxes.

Carnauba's don't last long. Not much you can do about that. But no synthetics (including Zaino) can reproduce that look. But a product like P21S (and what version are you referring to?) are so easy to apply, and you use so little that I don't think it is really a problem.

I don't use a Carnauba. As they mute the metal flake in metallic paint. For metallic paint you generally want to use synthetic's (like Opti-Seal and OCW).

    Re: best paste wax?

Use a Carnuba based wax for deep gloss and wet look. Any will do. Some are more durable than others.

I use Swissvax Shield. Which is a Carbuba Wax, and also has PTFE in it. Pretty durable, but expensive. I also have Swissvax Crystal Rock, which has serious depth and "wetness".

during the winter months i layer on some Menzerna's Full Molecular Jacket. Works great, decent shine, and lasts very long. Durable, and protects the paint very well. But doesn't have the depth and gloss a Carnuba has

    Re: best paste wax?

For a good quality reasonably priced wax try Lusso Oro. They offer a nice pre wax liquid and carnuba paste wax that applies very easily and comes off nicely as well. For under $50 you can't beat the quality.

Menzerna FMJ for wheels and winter sealant for sure!!

    Re: best paste wax?

Seriously though. If you haven't just try go down to Walmart and grab some NXT Tech Wax 2.0, alot of pro's rate it higher then near everything that has been listed (go figure).

Worst case, you are out $12 and a hour of your time.

Make sure you leave it on the car for about 30 minutes before you wipe off.

I don't know man, I've seen some pretty stellar results with Zaino, just as good as any carnuba finish that I've seen. I'm not sure what version of P21S, it was a white jar with a blue lid and I know it was expensive. It was something I purchased like 3 or 4 years ago.

Here are some Zaino jobs that look just as deep and glossy as any of the detail jobs I've seen performed on this forum:

I'm sorry, but there isn't anyone that is going to convince me that these $500 pure carnubas are THAT much better.

I used the CGs 50/50 over their Jet Seal and have been very happy--though in my county in Florida I haven't been allowed to wash my car for the last 2 months because of a drought so it's not looking so hot now.

Had the Zaino before that and liked it as well.

    Re: best paste wax?

Zaino is a great product. But maybe it is just me (well it isn't) but Zaino does look sterile, even on the pictures you posted. Also the insane time it takes. But again it does look good an lasts quite some time.

The P21S you are talking is "cheap" (about $30). Great freaking product though. The one with the silver lid is the 100% pure which is about $50.

Really what it all comes down to is if you are happy with the results of what you are using. There are some general "rules". But the main thing, is "it is all about the prep". Claybar, compound/polish etc.....

you're thinking of Swissvax Divine, which is custom tailored to your car and its paint and you get two jars of it. ~ $2500

There is also a Zymol called Vintage (pronounced vin-tah-shuh hahah) which is ridiculous money also, but if you are not a business owner (ie run a detail shop) then you have unlitmited lifetime refills. ~$2500

now these are not sensible waxes for the everyday person. but if you got the cash and you drive a Duesenberg, then i can see the justification in buying one of these high-end boutique, hand made waxes.

    Re: best paste wax?

so let me get this straight, syntheic wax is good for all paints including metallic paint & carnuba is good for all paints just mutes metallic flakes and doesn't last very long. And to get the look of paint dripping wet i need to use some type of glaze with my sealant and carnuba or synthetic wax or spray wax.

Adam's, Zaino, Klasse AIO/ Pinnacle Souverein (sp?) combo, one of these three, of course preceded by clay and glaze.
