    Broker Wheel Spacers

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    My H&R wheel spacers have literally broken off inside the wheel. As you can see they are hubcentric and the top of the spacer has snapped off and is still sitting in the wheel. It has only happened on the front wheels. Has anyone else had this issue or have any insight? I tried contacting the vendor multiple times but haven't gotten any answer from them. No rough driving, no track days, no autox. See the pics!

    who put the front wheels on last? maybe a shop over-torqued them? or tightened the bolts out of order?

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    What is the part number of the spacer?

    I noticed that there is black around the outside edge of the wheel. Is that a bevel or just where the spacer didn't touch?

    part number: 10255571 from the website

    For some reason that this isn't the perfect fit because of the tiny vibrations I felt at around 65-75MPH. I might remember a thread maybe RAudi created a long time ago about having a different fit then what they send?

    Thats why I never really liked H&R's. This isn't the first time Ive heard this, but it is rare. Motorsport-tech.com FTW!

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    Oops, I see that you are running stock wheels so that would mean that that black ring running around the outside mating surface of the wheel is where the spacer didn't touch.

    You had, and still have, the incorrect spacers on the car.

    I'm gonna assume that your part number is 20255571 and that the spacer is 135mm from edge to edge. You need a 150mm spacer and I think that the part number is 202555713, under footnote #24.

    If this is the case, your shop sold you the wrong spacers and they are non-returnable and not the fault of H&R.

    You want them to look like this when they are on the car. Perfectly flush with the wheel and rotor hat/hub.

    Ed, I knew I remembered a post from you a long time ago. Do you suggest I just get my local Audi dealership to order them for me? I used performance cafe before and they just ignore my continued emails.

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    When you say from edge to edge you're referring to the diameter? These weren't too "small." There was not a diameter fitment issue. They matched up perfectly, at least it looked that way. I think the hub and the wheel are the same diameter.

    Hey Ed, what spacers are you running on the RS? I know the hub is bigger and whatnot.

    Have you ever clicked on the footnotes to the left of the part numbers. If you click on footnote #24, you will see that there is another part number for the 150mm spacers. I can't tell you how many people and shops make the mistake of just ordering the 135mm spacers for the S4 when it requires the 150mm spacer.

    Footnote
    24 If the hub face of your vehicle is 150mm (most vehicles have 135mm hub face), alternative spacers are available. Please see list below.
    DR = 8mm 162555719
    DR = 10mm 202555713
    DR = 12mm 242555713
    DR = 15mm 302555716
    DR = 20mm 402555716
    DRA = 20mm 4025572
    DRA = 25mm 50255712
    DRA = 30mm 60255712

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    I'm running 150mm H&R's. The S4 also requires a 150mm spacer but the 45 degree angle that leads up to the part (hub ring) that broke off in your wheel is a different length.

    Mine is a 7mm 45 degree angle and yours should be a 4mm 45 degree angle designated by a 4x45 on the spacer

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    I'm an amateur so I'll take your advice but it doesn't look like footnote 24 applies to this spacer. Only 3 & 18. Am I missing something?

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    just want to let you know that in many cases the part number oon the box and spacers will not be the same as they are on the web site. You order them by the part number on the site and H&R will get you the spacer.

    However, even with the correct spacer you still may get a vibration with the spacers. They are causing a tiny, tiny vibration inmy car and my buddy just tossed on a set and is now vibrating. So that is a problem with the H&R's and vibration.

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    If you look at the footnote you will see that there is an appplication for the 10. It may not be in the 10mm row but it still applies. You should measure your spacers because the spacer won't some with that 3 stamped into it. You might just have the correct spacer.

    Why does you wheel have that black dirt ring on the back of it?

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    Dirt = It where the wheel has a small slope (bevel) downward. It's not part of the flat face. I know where you were going with that.

    Is there a way I can find out the size of my hub face from my desk here in the office?

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    Ed, I was meticulous about ordering the correct size. I read all your previous posts. I'm almost sure that the size is not the problem. What other ideas you have up your sleeve???

    And if a tiny vibration is normal, then I can't say anything was wrong.

    Re: Broker Wheel Spacers

    the vibration isn't normal but it is a common theme with these spacers. I'm changin mine out to the MTM's if H&R doesn't help me with the issue. I am speaking with them about it now.

    Check out Motorsport-Tech.com, another great spacer company.
