subjective asking what are the loudest clearest door speakers.

the size is 6.5, so you may pick whatever brand suits your taste, wallet size and type of set up you looking for.

I have shitty sounding speakers, focal utopia's...they sound decent. I would recommended them to people though.

Also, if you dynamat your door's the sound will sound better. Other contingencies exist: Will you use stock unit to power them (speakers require certain RMS to sound good), stock amp or aftermarket amp(how many channels and what is the RMS for those channels) What type of bass you want, component set up (3 or 4 way), etc..

Best advice, is find out how much you want to spend, hear other people's car (not just Audi's), go to local shops to hear what they have AND search for best pricing. Deviating from "name brand" will get you good speakers for an affordable cost.

From my experience working in a car audio shop, it would be your best bet, if you plan on replacing everything at one point, to just wait til you have enough money and do it all... Your wallet will thank you, your installer will thank you... and most importantly your ears will thank you!

You can suck it up and deal with a crappy stereo for the time being until then!

Definitely, this is the route I went and it worked wonders for the otherwise POS Symphony system.

I think it's a reasonable question, although the fact that he wrote it like a 6 year-old doesn't help his cause. Generally speaking, not everyone wants to go with the expense of a big system, and I definitely have zero interest in the form factor of an aftermarket headunit in the Audi dash. I'd be happy to find out that a simple speaker upgrade could improve SQ, in my experience factory speakers are a huge weakpoint leaving lots of opportunity for improvement.

I can tell you what I did in my car and I am so happy and spent less than 500 dollars:
An MB Quart 4 channel amp, 80W x 4, 2 channels powering the 4 OEM speakers, and the other tw0 channels powering a single voice coil 12" kicker sub.
Great sound quality, non expensive sound system.

Hint, your HU is the weakest point of your system if you still have the factory one (RNS-E included). That particular topic has been discussed at length in this forum.

I am just being modest, they are pretty good speakers especially with the BE tweeters hidden behind the door panels.

not many people like focal though, they stick with dyna audio, CDT, etc..

Uhhh, are you sure you have utopias? Turns out the cheapest component in the utopia BE series is MSRP $4500 and last time I checked, they are only available through special order from authorized dealers.

The stock headunit for sure, once the sound gets turned up.. it compresses the sound pretty badly.

Otherwise, I'm fond of the current MB Quart Discus series.. Phoenix Gold has a nice comp system too

Me putting in a sub made everything worse. As I said, once the sound gets turned up on the base 10 speaker system, all the bass is compressed and it sounds like ass.

What I know is true about car audio and that statement you made are in conflict...hence the reason why I asked for an explanation. It would be bad if someone who was new to car audio was misled by your post.
