How much would you pay to install an exhaust?

I got a quote from AWE for my exhaust installtion, a whopping $485 bucks! Seems a little steep to me for just an exhaust, how much would you guys? I've never tackled an exhaust install before, would you say its difficult? Any input is appreciated, thanks

You can get a custom exhaust for that price. 2 magnaflow mufflers for $250 and 250 custom piping.

It is high; I had mine installed by another shop and they told me that AWE recommends 3.5 hour install time for pricing hence why they quoted you so high. I got charged for an 1.5 actual time spent removing and installing.

Screw that dude, just go to a local shop or bring the exhaust to Quattrohaus or AMS, and they can hook you up. 485, is insane, that is almost half the price of their exhaust!

$485? Thats too much. A Local muffler shop only charged me $100 bucks to swap out exhaust on my other car

i dont know about 100-150 but I def wouldnt go above 225. Once its up on the lift, its as easy as taking candy from a baby (not somoan baby). I had my TB on my b6 1.8t for 180 and thats cuz I had some really stubborn bolts/stripped.

Exhaust work is $50/hr tops, this isn't high skilled labor, it is brute force knuckle scraping bolt turning and maybe some cutting and sloppy welding if necessary. $485 is absurd. I've had an exhaust shop make me a full custom mandrel-bent exhaust system, downpipe all the way to exhaust bumper tip, including materials (piping, muffler, resonator, flex section) for a little less than that quoted amount.

I would pay $50 but paid $75 and they did a shit job. welds were off and the tips arent sticking out enough

I really don't have a place nor the tools to do it myself fellas, or else Id be all over this. I don't know any local AZ'ers either. I'm thinkin I might go to AMS in Linden, seems like they do quality work there. I just can't believe the price I got quoted at AWE..ridic. Thanks for the replies

my garage charged me 45 min to install a cat-back, thats $50.

So, unless they have a stripper there to give you lap dances worth $430 (thats 30 lap dances, or about 3 hours of lap dances), I would never go there.

Can we stop repeating the DIY thing, srsly -_-. I dont have the tools, ramps, jacks, space to do an exhaust. Unless I could find a local who takes payment in beer will I be installing this myself. I want it done correct and right the first time, being that Ive got no experience with exhausts, I wouldn;t mind chalking up the $100 to $150 bucks to get it installed. But $485 is just not gonna happen...ever lol

Lol where ever I find a spot in the street. I'd prefer to do my work in a controlled enviorment, not the side of the road...beggers cant be choosers I know, but I dont wanna do something of this magnitude on the street.

I got my thermal r&d exhaust installed today... Its not that hard to be honest... but thanks to dfaudi.... sounds pretty sick.. but good luck with the exhaust. honestly do it yourself.... its really easy just takes some time and some thinking..

i would say good 2-3 hours without lift. most of that time will defend how long you get the dp in/out.
