    Fitting Recaro Pole Position Seats

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
It would appear that Recaro have discontinued the subframes to fit their seats to our cars.

Does anyone know where I might be able to track down some subframes, the part numbers are

    85.94.17
    85.94.27

By the way I am based in the UK so would need someone willing to mail overseas.

Subframe? Not sure what you are looking for. Are you looking for the brackets that attach the sliders to the car? Or the Sliders? Or the brackets that attach the seat to the slider?

If you are looking for the brackets that connect the slider to the car, then contact Wedge Engineering. They make brackets.

Do all the S4's in the US have powered seats?

Mine has manual forward and backwards movement and I am after the sliding frame that fits to the side mounts.

Ahh I see what you're saying now.

We only have power seats, but we still need the Recaro sliders if we are installing Recaro seats in the car.

Give these guys a call or email and see if they can help:

I think Sparco makes universal sliders as well... but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Wedge engineering makes brackets for almost anything.

Ahh, good to know. How do they compare to the Recaro sliders, as far as quality? Any idea?

i use the standard recaro sliders, and wedge brackets, think the OP wants the slders that directly bolt into the car.

I would just get the standard recaro sliders and add the brackets. I liked it this way since this is the 3rd car ive had my recars in and only had to buy new brackets from wedge.

Re: Fitting Recaro Pole Position Seats

Just to let you know this was the reponse I received from Wedge Engineering.

    THE BRACKETS ARE $77.00 EACH
    SLIDERS ARE $ 95.00 EACH
NEED SLIDERS TO MAKE THE BRACKET WORK
    NEED 3 WEEKS TO MAKE
SHIPPING IS DETERMINED BE YOU ADDRESS

Sounds great and have replied asking for a shipping price. I guess I can use the standard recaro side mounts with these brackets?

Gotcha, it all makes sense now I didn't know recaro offered sliders that bolted right to our car. I thought the sliders were universal and they all needed brackets. I agree, sliders + car specific brackets would be the way to go since you can easily transfer the seats from car to car.

But where did you buy the recaro sliders?

Do you have any pictures you could provide of your brackets and sliders?

Re: Fitting Recaro Pole Position Seats

That's a blow, lucky for me I bought some last year! I'm in the UK and bought my Pole Positions, side mounts and subframes from Edition38 show with a good discount, Bought them direct from Recaro, which meant they ordered them direct from the factory in Germany, iirc they were listed as B5 RS4 subframes. Are you sure that Recaro definately don't make them? Have you spoken to them direct?

They're still listed here too, for Audi A4/RS4's from 1995 to 2000.

Audi S4. Noggy Blue. MRC remap. FK Coilovers. 18" Compomotive MO's. Vredestein Ultracs. Labree downpipes. Vibrant cat-back. Carbon goodies. Cayenne BBK. Hotchkis ARBs. Dietrich RS4 front end. Recaro Pole positions. R8 steering wheel.

Re: Fitting Recaro Pole Position Seats

    Thread resurrection!

That website still lists the recaro baseframes for the S4, but they need to remove it because they source from Recaro, and Recaro have none left at all. I've phoned Recaro UK and Germany and definitely none left at all.

Madkebab how did you get around the problem? I'm in the same boat now and have emailed wedge engineering to see what they can offer. There seems to be some confusion over different brackets depending on whether you have electric seats or manual seats?

My car is a 1998 S4 B5 with manual seats, so not sure which brackets I need. Also, the recaro sliders, made by recaro, are for base mounted seats only, whereas the pole position seats are side mounted! Just to confuse us further eh?

You will need B5 A4 (non-powered here in US) brackets. Wedge Engineering will know what your talking about.

Re: Fitting Recaro Pole Position Seats

Spoke to wedge engineering, and they didn' really know what I needed. They suggested I should try the "2000 S4 power" brackets / sliders, but I the shipping to UK is $180!! so not gonna order unless I know 100% which ones are correct! My seats are both manual, but Wedge said if my car is an S4 then get the S4 frames (power) not the A4 non powered ones. Don't think they realise we had non powered seats in pre facelift S4 cars here?

Assuming I buy the correct brackets & sliders from them, does this mean I rip everything out of my car, then bolt down the wedge brackets and sliders, then the recaro pole position seats will just bolt right in? Wedge didn't ask what type of Recaro seats I was installing..........confused

Bump - anyone fitting Pole Positions into a B5 in 2025? I'd like to get the seat as low as possible while retaining a manual slider.

Is the move to get a B5 A4 manual seat and cannibalize it?

I have pole position XLs (profi SPG XL) and use planted brackets. I am 6'2" and they sit plenty low for me.

Awesome, this is exactly the setup I plan to run (profi spg xl). I'm 6'7 / 260lbs - do you reckon the SPG XL's are big enough?

The planted bracket doesn't include any sort of sliding mechanism. Are yours fixed in place?

Are you just running whatever generic side bracket recaro provided with the seat? I'm buying used and they don't come with any brackets or hardware.

I am about 255 lbs and fit in them just fine. I have a muscular build so my shoulers are a little wide up top but it's not a big deal.

I have a slider on the driver's seat. I think it's a sparco slider? Most any of them will work.

Yes, I am using the Recaro ones that came with the seat.
