I'm sorry if this has been addressed before, but I searched and couldn't find a thread. But anyways, does anyone know how how to take off the interior trim? I kinda want to wrap mine in carbon fiber vinyl.

with the B5/6/7 it was nice because there were a few DIYs out there. New platform is all around a ballbreaker for stuff like this

Carbon fiber trim on OEMplus is $1500...wtf? No thanks.

Damn. I guess no one here has attempted to do this yet?

Probably because every carbon fiber vinyl looks terrible and never passes for actual carbon fiber.

I agree. The only problem is the real brushed aluminum is a very soft metal and dings and scratches easily. I have had it in two cars now and simply farting too hard can damage it.

    Looks sooooo good though.

While on the subject, ECS Tuning sells a whole set of trim removal tools! These look like a bargain.

    this is just plain wrong

for one, it's not supposed to 'pass' as carbon fibre trim...and for two, it looks fantastic.

    scusa...

Yep...$30 plus a little of time and the results is good enough for me. Its even harder to tell if you seal it with something glossy.

Looking forward to your update ; I'm hoping to do the same thing but can't decide between black or silver CF fabric.

Where did you order the CF?

    Re: Removing interior trim.

It does look really good...I like the use of the silver colour "carbon" ...it keeps the original contrast in the cabin that I like. I'm not a fan of the black on black on black look.

I'm looking forward to seeing the full install.....especially overtop of that cheap looking plastic crap around the instrument cluster.

Just noticed....in your pic you have a small silver edge around the trim. After comparing mine I don't see where that would come from.....what did your before look like?

    Re: Removing interior trim.

I had the beige wood accent before, I think the silver edge are only on those.

BTW, I don't think I'm going to do the silver piece around the cluster, it would be too much CF IMO. I just want to wrap the door/dash/middle trim.
