Can Someone Explain Audi Exclusive Colors?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've found that the Audi Exclusive program isn't very well explained. I searched last night and couldn't find a list of colors available in the US, but I found 7 on Audi's UK site. But then I found an explanation in the media section of the US site that indicates any color in the world can be used as long as it can be mixed into a paint and pass environmental standards.

I've also read this article where they discuss trying to come up with a one-of-a-kind color for their S5.

So, what's the deal? Can I just send them a blade of grass and they'll make it into an exclusive color? Can I just tell them to match the color from another car manufacturer?

As long as you have an accurate sample of the color you would like to match, anything is possible. Having the actual paint code on hand makes this whole process much easier. If you go to any Audi dealer, they can go through the list of Audi Exclusive options and colors for both the interior and exterior. I have seen some pretty unique color combinations thanks to this program. Hope this helps.

if you special order you can also chose a list of Audi colors: Imola, papaya orange, gult orange, etc. AS mentioned, you can basically get any color.

So how exactly does the process work, and approximately what are the costs involved? I assume that a true custom color is more expensive than a color in the "Audi Exclusive" color palette. As examples, suppose someone wanted Sprint Blue on a Q5 or the all-white seats of an S5 on an S4?

it is $2500, doesn't matter if it is vw group color or not. it could be infiniti platinum graphite, mb arctic white, or even your fav. sports team color. as long as you can give them an accurate color to match, they will to their best ability. this will significantly add to your wait time (9 months or more).

actually, the very first a5 that came of the line was a pure custom color. it was, believe it or not, "nail polish" pink (a real translucent pink). search the internet and you'll find it.

Re: Can Someone Explain Audi Exclusive Colors?

Hmmm, I thought it had to be part of the VW family. I'm thinking of ordering a Daytona Grey S5 next year (I wonder what Carbon black or Jerez black from BMW's paint would look on the S5).

It is somewhat frustrating to know that Audi uses this color (Daytona) on some models but will make me pay $2500 to get it. I'd feel a kick in the nuts if they then offered it as a 'normal option' color next year. Even worse, its weird to think you have to pay $2500 for a metallic/pearl grey color that I've seen stock on Scions and Toyotas.

Re: Can Someone Explain Audi Exclusive Colors?

Yes, the upcharge is significant. But regardless of how common the color seems, you are really paying for them to modify their standard assembly line procedures and load up a paint that is not normally set up for use on that line.

At least you can order a custom color if you're willing to pay the price. I doubt you can do so on those Toyotas or Scions.

What bugs me is that we can't get any other color for the interiors on the A5 2.0T S-line but Black!.

Re: Can Someone Explain Audi Exclusive Colors?

Actually, the $2500 is only for an Audi AG color. So yes, Daytona Gray would fall under this provision. However if you choose to do a custom color (paint to sample) or a color from another manufacturer (say, BMW Imola Red for example), you would have to pay $6000. The $6000 option however covers ANY possible color that you could think of.

The Audi Exclusive program is really quite impressive when it comes to the amount of options you have. But, as you can imagine, expect to pay for what you get. Let me know if you guys have any further questions.

no louder than papaya, glut or solar orange (which i've seen on an RS4) and it is fucking amazing:

all 3 of these are different cars, and all of them I believe are in the same color with slightly different lighting:

I prefer Imola Yellow to that orange. The orange would be nice on a track car.

OK, so if I wanted to 'resurrect" Nogaro Blue, that would cost $2500, since it is (or was) an Audi AG color.

What about interior color semi-customization, e.g. say someone wanted the all-white seats of an S5 on an S4?

Correct. Nogaro Blue falls under the Audi AG paint codes.

Almost anything is possible with the Audi Exclusive Program. Shoot me a PM with more info on what you're looking for and I'd be more than happy to help.

I had all white leather seats from factory on my 04 Mustang, i had the vehicle 3 years and toward the end of my ownership it began to get a lil uncleanable dirty so if you plan on keeping it for a while forget white leather. But it did look amazing for the first two years!

Well, my prior 2001 S4 (stolen, whereabouts unknown) had a light colored interior. I don't necessarily want a white interior, but quite honestly I don't want a black interior either. I'd go for a light grey, but that's not available. I think the dual color black/white sport seats look absolutely hideous, like a beached killer whale.

Personally, I find Audi's standard color palette, both exterior and interior, to be rather uninspired. Gee, how many versions of silver, grey, and black can you have?

    Two Questions
How hard is it to obtain touch up paint for a Executive Color, assuming it is a AG color VS custom color. I would think fairly easy but how do you find out the paint code?

    So....
Is there anyway to find out how many cars might have the same color? I actually just purchased a car with an Executive color and the sticker just says Executive color VS Red or Black...

    Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

First, it's "Audi Exclusive", not "Executive". If you ask about Executive, people will wonder what you're talking about.

Also, when you order an Audi Exclusive paint (as I have), the code is on your order sheet (but as stated, it won't be on the 'Sticker'). It will also be on the door panel, like any normal car.

As for finding out how many have the same colour, you can send an email to AoA, and they'll get back to you. They have all the breakdowns. There are a few threads that have some posts about member's specific configurations.

Consider my nuts kicked. I ordered an '11 S5 Cab in Daytona Grey (which was then an Audi exclusive) so the upcharge was $2,500. Now it is available on any S5 Cab at no cost. Anyway, it is a striking color so it was worth it.
