Hey All. So i have the factory 6 CD Changer, Tape Deck, Sirius SAT radio unit in my 06 A4. Called up sirius to activate it but told me i cannot get any of the xm package channels on my unit. Anybody know of a way around this or point me to a thread that covers this? I can't find anything. Thanks all!!

I am confused. You say you have a Sirius unit, yet you are confused that when you called SIRIUS, you could not subscribe to XM?

First, as far as I know, 95% of the programming between Sirius and XM is now identical. And, nearly the all the programming is available for an extra charge - for instance you can subscribe to "the best of XM" on Sirius to get the few channels that don't already overlap on the Sirius and XM units.

So, I really don't know what you are asking. You have a Sirius unit, THUS it is fairly obvious to me that you have to subscribe to a Sirius branded package at this point in time as the merger is complete but the companies are still operating separately - call Sirius, pick a Sirius branded package from the Sirius website and be done with it - otherwise, sell your Sirius unit and pick up an XM unit here on the forum. I don't know why you would do this, because like I said earlier, it's basically the same programming with different channel numbers and it is becoming more and more the same as the two companies come together.

    Re: Sirius Radio

First, I didn't say I wanted to subscribe to XM. I understand that I have to subscribe to a Sirius Package.

To get down to the point...I'm a fan of Opie and Anthony. Opie and Anthony is a branded XM radio show and is still under the XM name. I was trying to see if anybody new if that is a possibility now with the merger to get that channel through a Sirius subscription, kind of like what you said..."best of XM" on Sirius.

Sorry if I was unclear in my explanation.

OK - that makes it easier - Here is your answer...YES - you can listen to them on Sirius -

SIRIUS Channel 197 - Part of "the Best of XM" package.

    "Opie and Anthony
Weekdays 6 am, 3 pm and 7:30 pm ET
Opie & Anthony and comedian Jim Norton have made The VIRUS their home every weekday morning, with additional encores around the clock. Catch the best of their outrageous radio with the Best of Opie & Anthony all weekend. Spread the VIRUS."

    ENJOY!

I've got a C6 A6 and am in the same boat. I'd love to know what you find out about it. I've been looking everywhere for a way to get O&A. I've researched, but haven't been able to find anything.

The "Best of XM" is not available on our radios. Not all programming is available with all radios.

X2. I remember reading on the sirius website that not all radios are compatible with the "best of XM" package, so you're probably out of luck.

Yep, I gave up trying to find out exactly what was being picked up on the sat radio in my car. I know its a combination of XM/Sirius, but it is not the Best of XM.
