Convertible top reset?

My wife wanted to vaccum inside the convertible top's tray. So i thought it would be smart to cut it off half way right? um, turns out, that was a bad idea. The convertible top light just blinks. i found out how to put the top up/down manually so i put it up and have it all locked down but it still wont go back to working automatically. I disconnected the battery for an hour but no luck... any tips?

Wish I could help, did you try pressing the button down for maybe fifteen seconds?

Maybe put the key in the door and do the window reset procedure. That may work.

ugh, i know... if i cant get this shit CPOed then my engine build will have to be postponed till next year..

is there a window reset procedure? the convertible top light is just blinking. ill go try to hold it for 15 seconds, i think have already but this blows!

allright, for anyone else who may run into this problem... i did the key in the door window roll down to no avail then held the button for 30 seconds... one of those two finally made it work thank God!

at first i was glad i had a convertible since the ac went out... i rarely use it anyway but if that top was going to be stuck up, i was going to have to get it fixed ASAP!
