Q5 Black on Black...lots of pics

We have a baby due in less than 2 weeks and just finding out that the stroller barely fit in the a4, it was time to upgrade.

We just traded in a 2007 A4 brilliant black S-line with titanium package for an 09 Q5 premium plus with 19"wheels. The 180mph speedo is a little ridiculous.

So far it has exceeded our expectations. We drove the Volvo XC60 and there truly is no comparison. The Volvo was just boring to drive.

Anyways, this after noon, we did a little driving around down town Fort Myers, Fl. There are lots of great backdrops for the Q5, so I got carried away. It was too hot so my wife stayed in the car. I only did this one time with the A4, so this is the one time with the Q5...enjoy.

Everything on the car is perfect except the speedometer. I mean 60mph is a quarter of the way up. They should have topped it at around 140 - 160mph.

Great car! I just had my baby and almost traded my A4 for the same exact thing. Decided against it for the time being. Don't want to give up the MPG and the travel stroller fits. Gonna wait a few years and hope the new allroad makes it stateside.

beautiful car(it was my first choice but went with a MDX instead) but thsoe pics are amazing. the backdrops are gorgeous (never knew for meyers was so nice) they can be used in audi promos.How is it that theres not another sole, car or pedestrian, in sight?

I took those pics July 5th Sunday afternoon around 3:00pm. Very few if any shops and businesses are open in the downtown district...so, very few cars and people. I did have to wait a few times for cars to pass. During the week would be a totally different story.

Downtown Fort Myers has really been transformed into a beautiful place.

On a side note, just like the A4...lots of brake dust but the wheels are very easy to clean with plenty of room for my whole hand.

My wife says she likes it better than the A4.

*Real time MPG in the city after 1st fill up is 17.6 mpg


I had the windows and roof tinted with Huper Optik Ceramic tint. But I chose to do the front window in a dyed metallic tint to match the back windows better. They match just OK for me but I would like them to be darker and match better. They are definitely more reflective looking. 50% on back and rear. 28% on front windows and roof

There were only a handful of Q5's available in FL that were black with a black interior, of those there were none that had the prestige package. The black interior was important since the beige shows every little smudge of dirt and looks dirty real fast.

We hardly ever used the Navigation in her last car so Nav was really just a gadget not a nessesity. So far the Q5 has been great and is a joy to drive in and around town. The back doors open wider than you think so you have to be careful not to ding them when opening.

I removed half of the cargo cover leaving only the 10 inch section closest to the seats. I banged my head on it every time I reached in the trunk cause it raises up when the lift gate opens putting it right in the way when you reach for something.

Also WATCH the exhaust tips. Removing a heavy object like an cooler full of soda require you get close to the bumper for leverage and I have seared my calf nicely.
