    Curb Rash Fix

    Hey guys,

I just got a decent size curb rash on one of my wheels. It's sort of bugging me this time so I decided to get it fixed.
The wheels are BBS LM's with polished lip. Is there a DIY that I can do or taking it to a shop is the only way?
The size of the rash is about 3 inches long and not too deep. How much do you think it's going to cost to get this fixed?

Also does anyone know how much BBS charges to get just the lip part? (I have the two piece LM's). If this comes out cheaper, I should perhaps just get a brand new lip for it.

    Thanks in advance guys.

    Re: Curb Rush Fix

My BBS RC's were scratched up on two wheels pretty bad when I got them... I ended up bondo'ng it, and it came out great, but I had to paint the wheels, which kind of sucked... If I powdercoat them, they will sand blast them first, which will get all the bondo out too :(

I'd say, if you are going to buy the lip, first try to sand it out, and polish it, and if it doesnt work, then go for the new lip.

    Re: Curb Rush Fix

I would totally bondo it if I decided to paint it.

I was just wondering if taking it to a shop is cheaper. Just trying to find some ways to save some money! Haha.

Perhaps I'll try to sand it my self first thing tomorrow and polish it. Any particular polish do you recommend or any would do?
    Thanks for the suggestion! :)

I havent done it myself, but I've seen posts here about it...

I've heard of shops painting wheels at like $150-250 per wheel, but since its polished metal, it should be cheaper... Plus its only the lip.

    Re: Curb Rash Fix

if you go to your dealership, theres a guy that comes around (at least there is at mine) that will sand and repaint each wheel for 50 dollars. bondo is prolly extra, but rarely needed.

Just do some google searching for wheel repair in your area. There are usually a few people who do it in big cities. Call the porsche/ferrari/expensive car dealers and ask who does theirs. They always get the best around. The place here does them for $60 per wheel. Im taking mine in sometime this summer
