Fender to Ground, Where do you stand?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
This thread could be somewhat useful I think. We can consolidate all the ride heights into here for refrence.

Post a pic, and your fender to Ground height.

I know as of right now im sitting at 23.25F and 23.75R.
Wheel info. F are 18x8.5 +40 Kuhmo Ecsta MX, R are 18x8.5 +32 Kuhmo Ecsta MX

Unfortunately I finished my coils last night around 10 so I don't have a pic yet. But ill update this as soon as I do.

I agree on the usefulness of such information -- good idea.

I have a couple of comments through. What is the use of fender-ground height without also stating (a) tire size, (b) fender to wheel top gap height (-ve being fender lower than top of tire), and (c) type of suspension?

For instance, consider the ridiculous scenario of an A4 with low-rider type wheels (tiny, wide, sticking out the side) -- the fender-ground height would be very low, but what about the other aspects?

IMO, you need all of these parameters in order to -- at a glance -- see the visual effects of suspension mods and tire upgrades.

Re: Fender to Ground, Where do you stand?

25-5/8" all the way around day of suspension install, haven't measured again. Stock 17's (235/45/17) with Koni/Eibach Pro kit. Based on my measurements, the kit lowered about 1.2" as advertised. I really like the height.

We can go that route! I was thinking more just to see how low your body sits to the ground. But if we can get into specifics then maybe we can throw it in the FAQ

Re: Fender to Ground, Where do you stand?

I'm at ~25" g/f with the pre-set Stasis damping...ride is harsh enough so tightening up the damping would only make it worse I'm happy with the way it sits, just wish ride was a little better, but something you just have to deal with. On OEM B6 USPs with 235/40/18 Contis (temporarily) with 10/12mm spacers, need to go 12/15. Ideally 17mm in rear would be good, but afraid it will rub.

This is one beautiful car. Perfect drop, nice wheels -- the whole package.

Forget the spacers ... you don't need them. Car looks perfect the way it is, and spacers only potentially weaken the wheel-hub connection. If you must change the offset, do it with different rims, but to my tastes the present rims are classy and don't need to be messed with.

Thanks Re the spacers, I think I'm with you on the risks. She rides like a dream now -- no vibration at any speed and she eats up the turns. I think I'm going to freeze the look now at 'classy sleeper' and re-focus on performance...
