    Re: Tiptronic steering wheel buttons

well they dont light up, I dont really car if they light up, I just want them to work, its pretty weird that the upshift wont work on both buttons but the down shift does.

hopefully if the buttons dont work I dont have to replace the whole steering wheel.

    Re: Tiptronic steering wheel buttons

Yeah the upshift works fine on the shifter, and I have no codes on vag-com, I ran it this weekend, I have an EGT that looks like its bad, but that has nothing to do with it.

on the shifter when I move it over to tiptronic mode It kind of gets stuck, I should probably take that apart and see if any cable is cut or loose.

Im gonna look for a write up on how to remove those panels.

    Re: Tiptronic steering wheel buttons

I don't know if the TCU switches the buttons on directly or via a relay. If it is with a relay I would start there...

Try reading this and see if it helps.

Mine stopped working completely. I disconnected the battery and it started working again. But after a few months it acted up again. I'd try disconnected it first.

do you know if the tiptronic buttons on the steering wheel are connected to the relay for the horn? my horn doesn't work either and I don't hear it click from the relay when I push on it so I think it's bad.
