Why is my parking light symbol on all the time?

Just wondering why the symbol for my parking lights are on. I do not know too much about my car yet! I do not think that it is normal but i could wrong. I am a newbie so just curious.

What does this parking light look like? Is it a circle with a "!" inside?

If so, check your ebrake. If that is down fully check out your brake fluid.

No, it is 2 green lights facing away from each other, sort of like this ((I><I))
Sorry i dont have a picture of it. But in the manual it shows the symbol as the parking light. All my lights seem to be on normally, and turn off normally but this symbol just doesnt look right to me.
For example if you were to pull e-brake, the red symbol would come on, and when you take the e-brake off it should turn off. But this symbol is on constantly.
Also my e-brake light only comes on for half a second when i pull it up. Even when fully engaged it does not stay on, is that normal. I dont think so.

Your green light symbol is your daytime running lights. Mine shows on all the time regardless of whether I have my light switched in the "off" position or the "on". There is no worry for this.
As for your e-brake light, that shouldn't be going out. No idea what would be causing the icon to light up then disappear.

^^ x2..you live in Canada so your car is required to have Daytime RUnning Lights, so that little green symbol is just letting you know your lights are on, that's all.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what Audi had in mind when they decided to make the parking symbol permanent.

Audi got lazy and didn't bother programming the ECU so that it would know whether the lights were on b/c the switch was set that way or b/c it was coded for DRLs. This is dumb IMO since it also means that RNS-E users cannot use the automatic day/night map display since it's based on whether your lights are on or off...

To think that even my Jetta had this "feature" boggles my mind...

When you do the independent fog light mod and code the car to "rest of the world" you can turn your lights off, have just the parking lights on, have have the fogs w/ parking lights on, and headlights with and without fogs on. Also for you RNSe owners, when you set the map display to auto it actually works with the light switch now.

You don't get it. When I say it's impossible, it's permanent, I mean when you're sitting in a regular A4 with no tools, no software and no desire to spend time and money on something so trivial. As Audi intended, or cared less about. Yes, "modding" can make ANYTHING possible...

If you dont have DRLs like in the US or other places I dont believe this is always on and its like that stock.
