Toronto Audi Club Logo/Decal POLL

There have been a few posts with ideas for logos and decals but they are kinda scattered around this will be the dedicated thread for picking a logo/decal.

So far Ive seen 3 distinctive ideas.

The logo needs to be re-thought and revamped from the ground up in my opinion. The canadian flag and CN tower representing Toronto is cliche. Is that a true representation of the club - CN tower and the canadian flag? What is the essence of this club?

I think we need a logo thats simple and timeless . Perhaps something with a dot com so other drivers or potential club members can visit the website for more info or how to join. Also, a logo thats going to look cool but unobtrusive on our cars - like the audi four rings.

+1 the cn tower has nothing to do with cars. Its like, if they made a wisconsin audi club and the club sticker was a audi logo on a piece of cheese....

Any ideas on what would represent Toronto? The essence of the club is we love and drive Audis and we're in the GTA. I agree something simple is best. A .com sticker would work if we had a website perhaps thats something we should look into.

the CN tower and the cityscape have nothing to do with the cars just the locale. We are the TORONTO Audi club and thats why they are there.

Which font are you thinking of?

It's the Audi Sport font. Not sure which Helvetica it is...Helvetica Wide I think. There's also Helvetica Medium Extended. I posted this in the Toronto Audi Club thread as well.

i agree with teflon. the current logos are great, but not everyone is from toronto aswell, so i dont see why we should revolve it around toronto. im from hamilton and i tell everyone im from hamilton, not toronto. i wont put a sticker repping toronto on my car.

imo it should be something like S.O.A, southern ontario audi's or something on the lines of that. we should leave specific cities out of the name

Well in an attempt to please some people and stir the pot further, I've come up with another possibilty to build and comment on:





Tried to go with something synonomous with audis of today, and it was either LEDs or the front grille. Since there are too many designs for the LED shapes, I felt the grille shape ties all models together better. Yes I know that only reflects B7 and higher models, but if you ask someone who's not in the know what is the most prominent feature of newer models, that's what the'll pick. Now it might be a little plain, but it does go with some suggestions to simplify (even tho I think the above were pretty simple as is) and less "toronto orientated".

Now I understand that not everyone isn't from Toronto and some wouldn't want to rep a city they're not from. Maybe we'd have to make 2 versions, one that's is Toronto orientated (given the name of the club is Toronto Audi club) and one that isn't. Fact is, I don't think we'll come and make a decision on a single one that will please everyone under this name. Maybe it might have to be changed in order to accomodate everyone, I dunno.

Second, if you're going to make suggestions, please elaborate a little. Saying something needs to be more simple and timeless (Not targeting you Mike ) doesn't really help the design process. If you can make a crude drawing or pointers that would be a lot more helpful in editing, revamping or completely redesigning. I'm not trying to bash anyone's criticism and tell them what we have now is what we're going with. I'm just trying to progress this logo into something we all can share as a group.

Just a side note, the newest Audi font isn't Helvetica. Official font is called Audi Sans, and that is the older version. Newer version is a little different and I think it's called AudiType. You can read about it here

1 suggestion. Like it was mentioned could we change the name to something like GTA so that people who live outside the Toronto limits can feel good about wearing the logo?

I can relate to what your saying, Im from Barrie, but again this the the "Toronto Audi Club".
Unless we revamped the whole club idea and start the Ontario Audi Club or something and had different city chapters.

It would be better if the group name was updated as well, with so many members from Kitchener, Barrie, Hamilton, etc. it incorporates all of the golden horseshoe, southern ontario even.

Southern Ontario Audi's seems like a good name....BUT do we really want our abbreviation to be SOA (School of the Americas)??
Then we'll end up with some sketchy hippie protesters yelling at us about human rights and blah blah blah blah.

I agree. I think Ontario Audi Club would be more appropriate, since there are other members from various parts of Ontario.

And then I guess we can have different chapters. Most car clubs do it this way, which would allow for some sort of annual meets/shows/gtg, blah blah blah..

I think the name should stay as Toronto.

It would be understood by locals that it includes all of ontario, however globally "Toronto" is more well known so better to keep it in the name.
