Gunmetal or Black?

So, I have been bit by the mod bug and this weekend am having my springs installed, sway bar installed, and going to have my wheels painted. Problem is, I cannot decide b/w black or gunmetal. I am painting my OEM BBS CH wheels.

Looking for some advice or pics of black b7's that have kept the BBS wheels and painted them or something of the sort.

Gunmetal accents black really wheel and doesn't hide the shape of the wheel like black does. I vote gunmetal.

How bout painted calipers? Dark wheels really need the contrast in my opinion.

I'm aware that this doesn't answer your question, so I'm going to vote black. I think either way will look amazing though.

black wheels for life...unless on a black car, then go gun metal...it offsets just enough

Low maintainance w/ the brake dust. I painted the rotor hats and the calipers black. Also I refused to spend $120 on the rattle clips, had i bought them i would have done silver though..

Yes! Finally.I vote gunmetal on the black B7. Whatever it is you do, please post pics when you finish. I have been thinking the same thing for my winter rims. Would love to actually see these wheels painted and mounted.

That's a sharp black on black look, but I think the gunmetal will give a nice subtle contrast that I want.

If I was going to murder out my car then black would be the way to go.

Thanks for the votes and I will post before and after pics when I get it all done. Hopefully this weekend, so next week sometime I hope.

go Gunmetal - it hides brake dust really well. If you decide to go with black, don't do it unless you have a fat chrome/bright painted lip. plain old black just sucks, too ghetto, too ricer - IMHO.

They are BBS CH Black Editions 19s. thank you for the kind words, haha

In regards to the lip, it's a "Chrome Rim Protector Lip". On this wheel, anyway, its not really a lip, but rather just a ring that takes most of the beating if you curb it. Also, replacable for ~50 dollars. Asked BBS about it, they said its a simple adhesive, so pull the other off, clean it real good and put the new one on :)

so, got the car back yesterday after not having it for what seemed like an eternity. the paint for the wheels was actually matched to the dolphin gray Audi color so the wheels are not as dark as the ones above, but look really really good.

raining here in NC, hope to post pics tomorrow (I know I know, why bother post unless you have pics) when it's sunnier with the finished car. the problem is now I have to decide what to do next? was going to black out the grille, but the grille goes well with the wheels now. decisions, decisions.

What's the name of the color? I'm looking for something semi-gloss/almost matte/flat black. I'm going to P/C my wheels - having trouble deciding on black or GM. My car is white w/black top.

Nice subtle differences in the ride height and the wheel color. Nothing too extreme. Ordering the smoked side markers and then not sure from there. Open to suggestions.

Also, my car is filthy thanks to the nice thunderstorms we had here yesterday in the LKN area.
