Re: B7 Perfect OFFSET For 18" And 19" Wheels?

Forgot to mention, I'm getting a set of wheels in 19 x 8.5 ET45. Looking at H&R's website they have 10mm, 12mm and 15mm so I need advice on which size spacers to get to achieve the flush look.

I say 15mm in the back and 10mm would sit them pretty flush.

Yes, or 15mm wouldn't hurt either? Do you have any pictures of the 19x8.5 et32 on your car?

Interesting idea, didn't think of getting different sizes front and rear but it makes sense. I think the rear fenders do look a bit wider on those with same offset/width wheels from all the picture threads.

This guy is rolling ET29 front, 25 rear, looks sick but maybe just a little too extreme for me.

Re: B7 Perfect OFFSET For 18" And 19" Wheels?

    my car is et35

my et35 up front could use MAYBE 3mm more at most to be flush. so i think 12mm spacers up front for yours would be good.

then for the rear, i would say 12mm if your scared of rubbing, or 15mm

all in all, now that i put some thought into it... 12mm front, 15mm rear.. giving you 32et front, and 30mm rear would be perfectoooo. but you might rub depending on your drop

that picture you linked.. is probably et35 like mine. if you do 10mm front, and 12mm rear.. your car will sit exactly the same as that picture.. just a little more flush in the back (3mm more flush to be exact)

    Wheel Diameter and Width: 19x8
    Wheel Offset: ET35
    Spacer Specs (if any): N/A
    Final Offset: ET35
    Tyre Specs: 245/35/19
Ride Height: Don't know the exact inches from fender to ground. If I go much lower, it rubs.

You must have negative camber in the back because I also have ET35 wheels and it seems to sit more flush.

I think the above wheels fit the best with any reasonable suspension.

Yeah thats what I'm worried about, I want the look but don't want any rubbing although I hardly ever carry any passengers in the back.

All in all, liking the 12mm front and 15mm rear idea so far. If anyone could confirm if theres any rubbing with this setup et32 front, et30 rear?

Car will be lowered with either H&R springs on red oem shocks or H&Rs on Bilteins. Don't know if one is lower than the other?

What size tyres have you got? I was thinking maybe go for narrower tyres to avoid rubbing? Something like 235/35/19s?

Like your wheels by the way

thanks man. im running 235/35/19 and i wouldnt go any wider than that if you plan on using spacers and dont want to rub. i think 12mm front, 15mm rear, 235 tire and h&r springs will be perfect and shouldnt rub...

if you do, there are screws in the wheel liner (either in the front or back, cant remember, i think its the front) and you can take them out, and it gives you a little more room. the screws are pretty much useless

that looks great are you on spring/shocks or coilovers? i assyne c/o's cause you are pretty low.. unless its just your aggressive offset making it look lower

Yeah that sounds like the right plan for me. Now I just need to find out if bilsteins are lower than oem red shocks.

Thanks for the tip about the screws.

why play the guessing game. buy the wheels u want, and once u get them, measure how far youd like to go, then buy the appropriate spacer

    Bingo.
...and I have that exact size wheel and offset for sale.
I'm not a fan of spacers... why not just get a wheel that's made for your car.

Yes that is right also, but what are these forums for? Sharing experiences and helping each other out, aren't they?

I really like the look of this stance. Maybe I should go more aggressive than et33 front and et30 rear? hmm...

Do you get any rubbings front and rear? Were the fenders modified? What size tyre are these?

    Same for me.

Audi A4 Avant MT6, stock suspension. I don't want to get into fender rolling or anything. I do occasionally take the car on rough fireroads for camping, so I'd like to keep some clearance. I'm likely to use my old 17" for rougher roads and snow.

I got a set of 19x8 rims, ET30 with 245/35/19 tires, and they seemed to stick out too much. I ended up fencing them for what I paid, but I'm close to pulling the trigger on a set of rims with Et35 8.5" I have a set of decent 245/35/19 tires off another set of bent rims I'd like to use.

So is consensus that ET35 on a 19x8.5" rim is relatively safe for an otherwise stock A4 B7 Avant? I know about stance, and it might look kinda dumb at stock ride height. That's another issue to be decided in the future.

    Update!

Et35 on these rims was perfect with 235/35/19 tires. I might have gone a bit wider on the tires so they don't look 'stretched'. They look a bit ricerboy stretched. Ugh. I guess some folks love that, but I don't.

The only major rub was finding replacement rims when I bent one or two of these. I had one straightened, and replaced another one. I came to the conclusion that the roads here in NorCal are too crappy for 35 series tires, even pumped up to 42 psi, and I'm going to replace them with 18"/40s for more padding.

Anybody wanna buy a set of (currently straight) 19" rims with Conti Extreme Contact 06 DSWs with 7/32" of evenly worn tread left? Adult owned, no burnouts, no super hard track-like driving.

So far, I've replaced two tires, one rim, and spent a bunch of time torching and hammering out dents in my rims. I'm also pretty careful when I drive. I do my best to avoid potholes, but that's not good enough. I found a replacement 19" factory peeler rim for cheap, but it has 43mm offset. I got that on my car with an 8mm spacer and appropriately longer bolts. It works, but it feels like a hack. It's certainly going to eat into the resale value of these rims.

I just picked up a set of 18" Audi A6 factory rims off craigslist for way too cheap. They're 18x8" with garbage tires, I got for $100 because some silicon valley tech dude wanted them out of his garage. I got lucky, but I do need to buy tires. I guess that means I'll need 10 or 12mm spacers.

I’ve been trying to figure out rims for my 07 A4. I have a set of 19’s with 235/35ZR19 on them. They have a 32 offset. I had to put 1/2” spacer on. They wouldn’t clear the front calliper. They just barely fit. Noticed that they did hit the calliper a bit on one rim. I have stock 18’s for the winter. They have a 40 offset. I put 2” screw in studs on. To make it easier to mount the wheels. I’m wondering if it’s just the style of rims that make it hit the calliper. They were originally off a 98 A4 that i had bought. Then sold to get this 07. I found some new replica 18x8 with a 42 offset. According to a website a 235/45/18 tire fits with a40-43 offset. The tires are what i have for the winter tires. So if correct. It’s not the offset that’s wrong with my 19’s. It’s the style of rim?
