    Achieving the Perfect B6 Stance???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
How does one go about it? I have spent the last few hours reading posts and looking at pictures on suspension/wheels/tires/offsets. I want to get it right in one try and not have to repurchase tires and such.

For 18" and/or 19" wheel setup, to get a FLUSH look without pulling/rolling the fenders drastically, what size tires and offset should be purchased? Spacers are an option, but I would rather skip those if possible.

If you have no clue, please do not post bad info. If I am asking too much, then delete the post.

    Thanks,

    ~Tereance

Re: Achieving the Perfect B6 Stance???

19" is the premo size for the B6. As far as stance whatever offset the stock RS4 wheels are is perfect. I know it, just slipping my mind at the moment. Never seen anything better looking than 19" RS6 or RS4 wheels on a B6.

    That looks perfect!

I have been eyeing the RS6 wheels, but everyone is buying them now, lol. Time to google for the offset.

"Perfect" to me is 25 inches from ground to fender:

i think each has their own opinion. I like 19"s tucked in the fender, kinda like my car but i didnt want to buy 19"s tires so i got 18"s tucking all four just slightly and i think its 24.25 or maybe lower. but i love how my car sits and looks.

this is a bad pic and before i got center caps

eh, I disagree, et35 leaves a bit of room. I think a 1 finger gap all around and DPE wheels do it perfectly. DPE makes custom offsets that look rediculously good. Spacers are a must unless your running something like an et28 or something. Ask Greg (actlslub or whatever it is)

Look for an offset around 35, then the size, i.e 18" or 19" will depends on what your personal preference. You will most likely need to buy a set of coilovers that are height adjustable so that you can fine tune the ground to fender height. I personally thinks that something btw 25" and 25"5 looks great. But depending on the size of the wheels/tires this may not be a viable option as it may lead to a lot of rubbing. This will all depends on your set-up.

The rims in that pic above are 20"s BTW, but in the pic below they're 19"s. Yet I love both stance.

I really don't see what the big deal is about oem or rep... RS wheels. Don't get me wrong they look nice and all but a bit too bland and boring for my liking. Takes away the creativity in putting a car together, where's the fun in that?

Having the car look like every other B6 out there is lame IMO, the OEM look is clean but come on be creative for once. Why buy wheels if you're gonna have the same one as a million other A4s out there? Why spend money on wheels, you might as well leave the stock ones on there..LAME!

Maybe some of us like the OEM + look? Quite honestly, I think most of the wheels that people, as you refer "be creative" with, look like crap.
    Border line ghetto rims.
Creativity can be dangerous in the wrong hands.
    Spinners anyone?

I run a +27mm offset up front. That brings the wheels 100% flush with the fender. My rears are at a +35mm offset, but they would look alot better if I brought them out to a +30mm or so offset.

OK?..who said anything about spinners and ghetto rims? dude if that's your idea of creativity then I guess that's why you're OEM... otherwise be creative if you've got good taste.

Also I don't know which cars or people you're referring to as having ghetto wheels but I've seen some nice ones around and I've seen some bad ones.
I'm not going to lie there are a lot of people on this forum that have such bad taste when it comes to opinions on what looks good. Man I don't even know where to start

Re: Achieving the Perfect B6 Stance???

This thread would be so much more helpful if people would tell the width of their wheels. I'm in the market for spacers to get my wheels flush, so I have much of the same questions as the op. However, without wheel widths these offsets mean absolutely nothing. I'm ET 35, but with an 8" wide wheel they are no where near flush.

ET32 19" wheels with a koni adjustable coilover kit. With a coilover kit you can adjust the ride height to where you want it.

Width of wheel doesn't matter because of the offset. Vinny has 8.5 wide wheels and his off set is 38 I think and he still needs spacers. OEM rs6 or S line wheels have a offset of 43 which sucks. It is different for each make of wheel.

Yes it does. A 9" wheel with a 35 offset is going to sit differently than a 8" wheel with the same offset. Offset is off wheel center, so a wider wheel will stick out more with the same offset as a more shallow wheel.

width of wheel has a huge effect on the stance of your car. A 19x8.5 wheel with offset 35 is not the same as 19x9 offset 35. To achieve the same look of with the 19x8.5 wheels, you must add a 6mm spacer to have the stance of 19x9 offset 35.

Exactly, and even if I saw 1 or two other people with them, I would think that the car looked great, cause they are the best rims for the money. Only thing better would be talking at lesat 3k and up pricewise

Same here! I havent seen any other A4 rollin RS4 wheels on the street either.
To that other guy hating on RS4s caus they arent WOW enough and to common. I actually looked for wheels for awhile and the only ones I liked were like Maya STMs and BBS's which are $$$$. Then the RS4 reps came out and at a great price. They look proper and are affordable... SOLD.
I personally really like the look and they look even better in person. OEM+ FTW!

I so cant wait to put C/O's on this summer after looking at all these pics.

You're all forgetting camber. A wheel that sits flush in the rear at -1 deg, is going to need a 5mm spacer to look the same when neg. camber is increased to -2.0. Then there is the section width of the tire...

Everyone who posts a picture should include the following specs so anyone else can reproduce that "look" they want:

    Wheels: 19x8.5 ET34.
    Spacers: 5mm front, 9mm rear.
Final ET: 29 front, 25 rear.
Camber: -1.6 deg. front, -2.0 deg. rear.
    Tires: 245/35-19 all around.
Ride height: 24-3/4" front, 25" rear.
    Suspension: Stasis TrackSport (corner balanced).
Fender mods: Lining with bolts removed.
    Rubbing: none.

Rear at near limit of suspension travel:
