Mobil 1 synthetic ATF instead of CHF11S?

Read this somewhere online. Is this a safe substitute? $29 for a quart of CHF11s really sux

I run synthetic ATF without issue. You can't just dump it in..This was with a new pump and complete flush.

I was told by my trans shop to only use the oem audi fluid in the TIP trans. This was after my rebuild. For the standard alot of peopel run differnt stuff, try a search or call a couple of shops/tuners.

He's talking about using Mobil1 ATF as a substitute for Pentosin CHF11S..I think..

yes. A fellow VW fanatic told me this was a safe alternative, he runs it in all his V dubs. Couldn't really find anything on it online.
Is it safe to use as long as the system is completel flushed with synthetic ATF?

Like I said, I run it, a few others I know do too. I have no leaks and no issues in 2+ years.

my tranny shop threw Pennzoil Synthetic ATF in my car when they installed the new tranny. its brand new so it shouldnt have any getting used to the fluid to do since its all its ever known. i even looked it up and the pennzoil stuff meets all the audi requirements

We're talking synthetic ATF in power steering systems here. Nothing to do with automatic transmissions.

thats what i thought until i started seeing people talking about ATF. ive only use 11S in my car though. shits expensive

That's why I switched. Audi hasn't made a non leaking power steering system in over 25 years, I don't see them starting anytime soon. I switched to Mobil1 along with a new pump and haven't had to top it off yet.

I think i'll go drain my whole system then. I just added it in, there wasn't really much of the original left anyways. Do i need to remove and clean the entire pump from the chf11s before i switch to synth ATF?

You probably shouldn't have just added it. I would do a thorough flush and start fresh.
