how much does the 2.7t motor weigh

alright i need to find out how much the 2.7t motor weighs. im looking at getting one and just trying to find out for freight. thanks!

well my brother and I are pretty big guys lifted a s4 motor out of a truck with our bare hands ..well atempted to do so but it was pretty damn heavy and fell straight to the ground however we really didnt have anything to hold on to but yeah its pretty damn heavy for a small motor

dosnt really help but thanks anyways hahaha was the motor alright after that if it weighs that much howd the oil pan hold up after that? not worried about getting it off the semi i got a forlift at my house so its all good

well im going to guess for around 600-700lbs, didnt damage it didnt drop fast we had it the whole tie but no it didnt damage anything

well im going to guess for around 600-700lbs, didnt damage it didnt drop fast we had it the whole tie but no it didnt damage anything

and wow if you didnt even crack the oil pan... I cracked mine on a little dip in a parking lot.

Anyway, good luck shipping the engine...

well obvi. you and your brother are not "PRETTY BIG GUYS" beacause i just looked at the spec sheet and the motor only weighs 440lbs. me and the guy that works for me can pick that shit up and walk it up a hill

lol haha ur funny to bad this motor was full of oil had the turbos and all the accessories on it also had the fw clutch pp. the spec sheet only ttells u block with no acceries , fluids etc. anyways be a complete dick ill be more than happy to see u in person one day to show u im not a small guy. also i came in here to help u and ur gonna say shit like this haha go rot in hell u noob

sheesh, and weight isnt all you have to worry about, as AMC said, it still had alot of stuff on his motor, a bulk motor isnt easy to handle by hand with all the plumbing and stuff..

and still 440 lbs is a LOT

I packed up a motor as a longblock with all of the accessories removed except for the turbos, inlets, and timing components, and on the pallet I believe it was right around 400lbs (I think 410 to be exact). It's crazy how much they charge to ship a motor! I've almost shipped a whole car for some of the freight quotes I was getting.

My friend and I carried a 2.7 without the manifolds or the heads. only had the bottom end, we're not big guys. but the effort I had to put in felt like 90lbs each arm. yea shits pretty heavy

well we lifted it from a truck bed while we were standing with our feet on the ground so we could only lift with are arms instead of lifting it from the ground were you can use your legs and back.
