Take it to a machine shop and have it pressure tested.

All of your valves will not be sitting flush. It will depend on where the engine was in rotation when you removed the head.

You would be to tell if a valve was severely bent by just taking the head off but you would have to remove the valves to inspect them further and see if they are slightly bent.

the cams are removed so all valves are seated right now

Re: how to tell if valves are bent with head off

to do a quick test, i use wd 40 variant in a manual spray bottle. spray in port. look to see if it leaks. if it comes out quick, it'll be bent or the valve seat needs to be reground. on suspected valves, i'll pull the valve stem in a drill and spin it to see if it's obviously bent. hope this helps.

    way ive done it-
have the head upside down and level.
i used diesel cause it doesnt evaporate as fast, but pout that into the "dish" until its flat with the level of the head and let it sit overnight. if theres any gone in the morning then you might want to take a better look at it

Re: how to tell if valves are bent with head off

the 3 ways i check are:

looking at the piston for valve damage. if there is piston damage there is most likely bent valve(s)

removing the cams and checking for leakage on all cylinders. this can also be used to check valve faces/seats for damage/carbon.

removing the valves (using proper tools) and visually checking (very easy to tell bent from new)

iirc the exhaust valves and the center intake valve are the ones that usually hit, with the latter getting the brunt of the collision with the piston head

    Correct

Brake clean out the ports then fill the combustion chambers with fluid of choice (I use oil personally) and look in the ports with a flashlight after a few hours. You will see the fluid reflecting light if there is any leakage.
