Engine Bay Picture Thread

I swore there was already an "official" engine bay thread on AZ, but apparently I was thinking about VWVortex after I tried 10 different searches on AZ.

I can probably post everyone's engine bay in this thread myself with all the saved images I have on my comp :) but I'm leaving it up to you. post up.

Ugh so jealous your engine bays stay clean. Up north its damn near impossible.

How do you guys keep them looking so clean? I am always worried if I use the pressure washer I will get a CEL or worse the engine won't start..

trick is to never let it get dirty.

Whenever I wash my car (bout once a week), I pop my hood after I dry the car and use the damp towels to wipe everything down.

If you have a dirty engine and want to get it clean, I would recommend covering up the alternator with a rag. Then get a wash mitt or whatever your weapon of choice is and soak it in a soap bucket. Wet down the engine bay lightly with a low pressure hose and scrub everything with your mitt and then softly rinse off. Then thoroughly dry.

Honestly Im not sure, its a very tiny hole SS mesh we had here at the shop from something.

What does everyone use for engine bay cleaner and process?

Well I use CD2 Engine detailer spray, then after that they also have a dressing you can put on everything. If you do this while the engine is hot it will turn out better, but watch for water around the filter if you one in the bay and also the coils if the cover is off. Since I'm just down the road I can help you at that great car wash we where at just a few days ago.

That's the RS4 engine cover. I picked one up from Greg@DTH. He also has them in carbon fiber.
