Lamin-X Tinted Film - Gunsmoke Rear Lamp Tonedown.

I decided to tone down my rear lamps this weekend, and having seen various recommendations - and not wanting to take a can of tinting spray to the Audi - I decided to give some www.lamin-x.co.uk film a go.

It's seriously easy to use and gives great results.

Here's how mine turned out with 'Gunsmoke' film - a 13% tint:





I'm now wondering about some of their blue film for the front.......

It's surprisingly easy.

The film is much thicker than you would think, and very plyable - and forms well over curved surfaces.

nope. As long as you don't go too dark, police generally can't tell.

I did take mine off - which is really easy to do.......

You really get little or no air anyway - providing you use the supplied tool and go from the middle to the edge.

It's far easier to do that you could imagine

Did you order the pre-cut kit? I just ordered the pre-cut tinted headlamp kit, and the yellow amber for my fogs. I was under the impression that I wasn't going to have to take the bumper off and remove the headlights to do it.

I held off on the tail lights because all of the options looked too dark for my tastes. I am reconsidering now after seeing your pictures, that looks really good.

no - couldn't get the precut film here in the uk, but the universal stuff was easy to fit.

here are some pics of mine i just did it a few days ago. it was pretty easy. i followed somebody's advice here and i sprayed a lot of soapy water on the light and film before applying, sprayed the film on both sides exterior and on the sticky side after took of the paper. no problems at all, easy to fit and looks good to me with no bubbles.

what is really important is the place you do it. if it's outside you might get some dust under the film. this is a big difference between air bubbles and dust. the air bubbles go out if you try enough, but not the dust. i did mine outside and it was pretty windy, so i got a bit of dust on one side, i am not gonna tell you which one . but anyway i am happy with the overall look, i can barely see the dust. good luck with your lamin-x

Good to hear how easy this is - I've got that gunsmoke tint for tails I need to put on. After that I'll put on the yellow fog film I've also got.

you can use the Image button in the posting tool to post images. The best way is to just paste a url, but you can upload as well I think to your personal gallery. The Image button is the right most icon on the posting tool. It's a square box with a yellow background and a little image of a mountain and sun.

Wow that's totally different. Could it be the lighting? I hope ours aren't that dark, I wanted something a little more subtle.

Looks pretty dark there as it is dark outside but yes it's pretty dark.

I'm pretty sure it was gunsmoke I ordered.. the lightest one they had for the tails..

Ha. Yeah, their naming conventions suck ass. Wish they could use percentages like window tint.
